Is there a widget shortcode I can use to add an events widget so that it will display within a tab?
August 1, 2014 at 11:11 pm #76691Hi Freddie,
Thank you for writing in!
Yes, using Visual Composer’s widget area shortcode.
Thanks!
November 16, 2015 at 11:12 pm #667849Is there something in Cornerstone as well? I can’t see widget area now that I am migrating to using Cornerstone.

Thanks for updating the thread. Yes Cornerstone also have Widget Area element –
You can also use Text Element/RAW Content to place your shortcodes.
Cheers!
November 17, 2015 at 12:33 am #667935I saw that but I couldn’t put it inside Accordian item or tabs. How do we achieve this?
November 17, 2015 at 12:56 am #667953Hi @Deepak,
Thanks for updating the thread. It’s currently not possible to add the widget element inside of a tab or accordion. The shortcode generator doesn’t list a shortcode for widget areas as well. The following is not an official workaround so it may or may not work, but it’s something you can try. If it doesn’t work on your end then we won’t really be able to help much further in this area. This has been added to our feature request list so hopefully it will get added in later at some point.
For the work around, enter the follwoing shortcode manually inside the tab or accordiion.
[x_widget_area sidebar="Name of your Sidebar" ]
Note: If you put a widget area element into one of you columns in cornerstone and go to its inspector tab you will get a drop down of your sidebars, just grab the title and use that.
Again thanks for understanding and hope this helps – thanks!
