Thanks for writing in!
Try adding following link to Whatsapp Option:
whatsapp://send?text=Hello%2C%20World!
You can replace Hello%2C%20World! with your texts.
Let us know how it goes!

July 21, 2015 at 7:36 pm #336419Hey there,
Accessing that link in desktop or laptop will direct you to a blank page because whatsapp protocol is for mobile device application. Please access it in a mobile device. If it still doesn’t work, you will need to seek assistance from a web developer to implement that for you.
Thanks.
December 2, 2015 at 1:42 pm #688862From what I’ve found so far this doesn’t really work. You can’t find your own ABID as it seems to be unique to the sender’s device. In addition I can’t make it work on Android, so such a feature would only work on iOS.
Great the option exists in the X theme, but it seems to have very limited value at this point.
December 2, 2015 at 6:58 pm #689320Hello There,
Thanks for updating this thread. We have added the Whatsapp icon due to user demands. The correct implementation of the icon link depends on the user and on this case it also depends on the platform on how Whatsapp handles the link. Whatsapp is very strict and that you need to have the correct format to be able to launch the application in your phone. According to their FAQ (https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/iphone/23559013), you need to have at least this link format:
whatsapp://send?text=Hello%2C%20World!
Now, X can no longer be held accountable whether this will work in iOS or Android since we do not have control in this platforms. Whatsapp is just new and may not have a standard yet unlike when your create a link 123456789 in which allow you to dial a number in your phone or on a desktop. Again this is beyond the grasp of X as our soul purpose of integrating it to the theme is that the users can display the Whatsapp icon if they want too.
Hope this explains it briefly. Thank you.
