Mary Beth MParticipantNot sure if this is a theme question or not, but figured this would be a good place to start. This strange black symbol appears in the dashboard when editing the Gravity Forms Notification settings. But only when paired with the X-theme, Only when you’re editing, and ONLY ON THAT ONE PAGE. I don’t think it’s actually affecting the website at all, (at least it seems perfectly functional) it’s more just really weird and sorta comical. Any idea what that is, or how it got there?

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Mary Beth MParticipantOh, it’s definitely Gravity forms. This isn’t the first time this has appeared here, I think this is the 4th time I’ve encountered it. I remembered another site it’s happening on, attached a screenshot. It’s been displaying on that site for the last 8 months or so, not affecting anything, just being weird looking.

JadeModeratorHi Mary Beth,
Would you mind providing your admin details so that we could check it ourselves?
Thank you.

FriechModeratorHi There,
Thanks for the credentials, but Im not seeing that massive logo. Would you mind to clarify how we can replicate the issue?
In the meantime, please clear your browser’s cache, caching plugins, or use another browser.
Hope it helps, Cheers!

Mary Beth MParticipantI can see it on multiple laptops and browsers. The only reason I asked is because the client saw it when he logged in and he was worried. If you can’t see it and it’s not harming anything, probably not a big deal.
Thanks anyways!

RupokMemberHi there,
This is the “Insert shortcode” button. If you open a post or page editor then you will see that – http://prntscr.com/c1tnxd
It seems Gravity Form couldn’t handle this properly and CSS not applying there hence the icon is showing big. As you are not inserting shortcode with the button on the form; you can ignore this for now.
Thanks!

eddierosenthalParticipantHI – i am a new voice in this thread. i have the same problem, and gravity forms support says
“I’m afraid the theme developer would need to fix how they are including their styles and scripts.Regards,

if i deactivate the cornerstone plugin the problem goes away.
although i will continue to research the issue, i currently have no solution.
Does anyone?

RupokMemberI believe X is enqueuing the stylesheets and scripts in most usual way and we always follow the best practices. I’ll forward this to our developer for further check and hopefully they will find a solution for you.
Cheers!

Mary Beth MParticipantHello again. I have another website that’s displaying the giant symbol.
Plugins are minimal on this site too, Gravity forms, WP SMush, Updraft Plus, and W3 Total Cache are the only non-X plugins.Doesn’t seem to be causing harm that I can tell, it’s just sitting there looking ominous 🙂

RadModeratorHi Mary,
Hmm, I can’t replicate what you’re getting from your screenshots on my end. I don’t see that big logo. Could you try it on another machine?
Thanks!

Mary Beth MParticipantCould it be part of this themeco logo?
October 10, 2016 at 1:47 am #1209450
RupokMemberHi there,
It’s not part of the logo, it’s the icon for “Insert shortcode” option. You can ignore that as you don’t need to get there often and it won’t affect the site.
Thanks!

jlhsolutionsParticipantI am getting this too! Did anyone figure out how to get the “Insert Shortcode” option to go back to normal?
