    Hello,

We are currently having troubles with our X-theme wordpress website (www.vr-house.nl). When we adjust pages or things in the customizer and save them, they only become visible when logged in into our wordpress admin account. When opening the website incognito, the changes are not visible unfortunately.

We already changed the memory limit to the following (in wp-config.php):
    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);
    define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );

However, this did not solve the issue.

We have the following plug-in’s enabled (all up to date):
    – Autoptimize
    – Compress JPEG & PNG images
    – Contact Form 7
    – Cornerstone
    – Logo Slider
    – P3
    – Slider Revolution
    – Smart Image Loader
    – UpdraftPlus- Backup/Restore
    – WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder
    – WPML Multilingual CMS
    – X-Olark Integration
    – Yoast SEO

We already tried to disable the plugins Autoptimize, Compress JPEG & PNG images and Smart image loader. However this did also not solve the problem. We also deleted the cache of our browser and website (with autoptimize), but no fix of the problem unfortunately.

Do you have suggestions or could you take a look to our settings?

    Kind regards,
    Laurens

Oh and when creating a new page, these changes are visible, also when not logged in as admin. However, changes made to pages that already existed are still not visible..

    Hi there,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – URL of page where we can see the issue

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Thanks.

    Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your reply. This does not solve the issue. We already knew that changes to newly created webpages (new url) are being saved. However, we want our changes made to existing pages (for example the homepage) to be saved and visible for visitors that are not logged in to wordpress admin. This is the problem we are having.

Do you understand my reasoning? And do you have other solutions?

    Kind regards,
    Laurens

    Hey Laurens,

I understand the issue. But, the cause of this is not Cornerstone but most probably has something to do with your website optimization. Here’s what you can try:

    1. Clear Autoptimize cache then check if the issue persists.
    2. If it does, deactivate all third party plugins then check again.
    3. If you’ve used a caching plugin before, ensure it is completely uninstalled. Contact the plugin developer to learn how to do that.
    4. Install a transient cleaner plugin and clear all transients.

    Thanks.

I solved the issue, this was the solution:

In FTP I deleted the following folder:
    /wp-content/cache/page_enhanced

This folder contained most of our webpages (gzipped) and caused the issue of not saving the changes made in the wordpress admin section. I think this folder was created by the plugin W3 total cache. This folder was not deleted when deleting this plugin.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help.

    Kind regards,
    Laurens
