Hello,
Someone let me know that in their performance report of my website that we have a D rating in “Cache Static Content”. Because of this, I wanted to use a cache plugin, the top two being w3 Total Cache and WP Super Cache. Both say they are not compatible with X. If this is so, what do you recommend that I use for a Cache solution? Thanks!
Allie

Thanks for writing in.
So far we know, there were no report on X theme about W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache that it is not compatible or it conflicts with X theme.
You could check this link below on how to optimize your site with addidtional W3 total cache on it.

Hope it helps.
We could not recommend any other cache plugins that could guarantee that it would not conflict or your ratings would be graded high.
Thank you for understanding.
May 4, 2015 at 12:47 pm #265169Thanks,
However, when I install either of those caching plugins, it won’t even activate because it says its not compatible. I have attached a screen shot of WP Super Cache, but it does the same thing for w3 Total Cache. URL is builderssurplus.us. Please help, as I really need this plugin!
All the best

Thanks for the screenshot!
This message isn’t by X theme. It could be one of your plugins that is incompatible with WP Super Cache. In such case, you could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Thanks!
October 15, 2015 at 1:30 am #626039I’m also having a similar problem… I was able to edit the site using the cornerstone editor for X on my site but since I installed wp super cache and allowed it to add the mod rewrite, I can NO LONGER edit the pages using cornerstone.
HELP! I have to edit links and add content!! 🙁 You guys have my login information from other posts.
October 15, 2015 at 1:41 am #626051Hi @iBobbyMac,
Thanks for updating the trhead!
Please clear your plugin cache and deactivate WP Super Cache before editing your page. The plugin cache can cause Cornerstone changes to not take place in the preview area. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately.
Please let us know how it goes.

I have logged in to your site. It turns out that aside from a caching plugin, you are using Cloudflare.
The Cornerstone builder takes place on the front end, so sometimes Cloudfare tries to cache its resources. This can cause stale data to be loaded. To resolve this, you’ll need to disable Cloudfare when the builder is in use. This won’t effect front end performance at all.1. Log into CloudFlare and navigate to “Page Rules”
2. Add a new rule using this URL pattern: *.example.com/*?cornerstone=1
3. Under custom caching, enable “Bypass cache”
4. Turn Performance “Off”If you’re still having issues editing a page, you may need to login to Cloudfare again and purge the cache.
Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.
October 15, 2015 at 6:02 pm #627256I’ve added the following items in Cloudflare and reenabled the plugin. Do I need to wait some time? I’ll write Cloudflare and see how long it may take as well… I have all caching turned off currently.
http://missymccorkle.com/*?cornerstone=1Apps: On, Performance: Off, Security: On, Cache level: Bypass cache
https://missymccorkle.com/?cornerstone=1Apps: On, Performance: Off, Security: On, Cache level: Bypass cache
Add new ruleAlso, I am using the cloudflare DNS for my website instead of dreamweaver’s DNS. Does that make a difference?
October 15, 2015 at 8:08 pm #627338Hi there,
Thanks for updating the thread! I believe you need to use CloudFlare’s DNS to use CloudFlare. Were you still having issues? Did you purge the Cache from your CF and also your caching plugins?
Let us know how that goes. Hope this helps – thanks!
October 15, 2015 at 11:09 pm #627507I’ve adjusted the cache to not always be online, put it in development mode, and purged the files. I have been able to adjust the left side adding columns and sections, but I cannot edit the right side or drag in accordions/content/images/etc. Can you see that from loggin into the site? Shall I reset the htaccess, disable cloudflare, move my dns back to dreamhost, and then try it? Or have ya’ll seen people get it working with cloudflare?
I previously had w3 total cache but it wasn’t giving me the caching I wanted so I disabled it but I don’t think it wrote to htaccess or anything else…
October 15, 2015 at 11:49 pm #627546Hi there,
I’m not sure if there are any other fixes, but you should really disable your cloudflare’s rocket loader.
https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200168056-What-does-Rocket-Loader-do-
It will not work as long as the rocket loader is active, and it’s not related to caching.
Thanks!
October 16, 2015 at 12:13 am #627554I didn’t even see that… I’ve found the issue.
It seems that cloudflare isn’t compatible with X theme to continue editing pages. It’s compatible as far as allowing the site to display – but ideally I guess you wait until the site is completely done to setup cloudflare. I wanted it for the added security and options it provides… but with my wife needing to be able to login to the website, it just won’t work to have it active.
I still have the site using cloudflare’s CDN, but the cloudflare plugin is inactive. Not only that, but I had to go to cloudflare to turn off the caching level. I don’t know if development mode mattered but the firewall also had to be set to ESSENTIALLY OFF. The rocket loader is set to automatic by default, so user’s don’t necessarily know it was set on their site. I think this is something cloudflare is testing (it’s in beta). I do still have the page rules set for http and https for the two cornerstone address strings:
http://missymccorkle.com/*?cornerstone=1Apps: On, Performance: Off, Security: On, Cache level: Bypass cache
https://missymccorkle.com/?cornerstone=1Apps: On, Performance: Off, Security: On, Cache level: Bypass cacheIt now works and I can edit. I’ll have to use this as the happy medium but I don’t know how much cloudflare is worth using as just the initial DNS for the site… perhaps it will just offer a bit of security to the site. I already have an SSL through dreamhost but they offer one for free, and their SSL is still active so it’s not affecting the themeco cornerstone tool.
Thanks guys for the support – you rock! Hopefully this helps others who may run into a similar issue.
October 16, 2015 at 12:20 am #627562Hi there,
Rocket loader is now turned off 🙂
And your cornerstone works now.
Cheers!
