When I go to edit a page/post either in cornerstone or the default ‘backend’ editor, the TinyMCE editor opens defuaulted to the TEXT tab. Clicking on the Visual tab does nothing. I am forced to work within the TEXT tab.
Any ideas to make this work as expected?

Thanks for updating the thread! Upon checking your site, we see that you still have X-Shortcodes installed. Please delete X-Shortcodes. Cornerstone retires and replaces X-Shortcodes. The shortcodes required for X to funciton properly are within Cornerstone, hence it is a required plugin. Having both installed (even while deactivated) will cause conflicts.
Hope this helps – thanks!
August 28, 2015 at 9:22 am #372255Well, I did uninstall the plugin and there was no change in behavior. Further I re-uploaded a fresh download of the x theme as well as the cornerstone plugin and no luck.
I did notice something. I have found that in some posts, the tab is locked on “Visual” while others are locked on “text”. For example:
http://www.abante.me/abante-colleagues-at-the-monastery-of-the-holy-spirit/?cornerstone=1 is the editing view of a post. You’ll see that it is locked on “text”
while…
http://www.abante.me/wp-admin/post.php?post=13788&action=edit in this view (Visual Composer) if I edit a text block here, the TinyMCE window is locked into “Visual” Mode.
Any thoughts?
August 28, 2015 at 10:11 am #372286I’ve read somewhere that it could be a theme’s css conflict causing the issue?
August 28, 2015 at 4:51 pm #372527Hey Brian,
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
August 28, 2015 at 10:48 pm #372687I tracked down the offending plug-in. I’m coming back to report just in case someone else comes across it. Strangely it worked just fine for the past year until a few days ago.
Title: PS Disable Auto Formatting
Author: Hitoshi OmagariIt was a nice little plug in that kept WP from stripping para tags. Truth is, it may not even be necessary anymore with Cornerstone.
Hope this helps someone else as well!
Brian

March 16, 2016 at 7:56 pm #841030Sorry to re-open but the described issue is exactly what I’m facing with the most recent X update. I’m using cornerstone and have deactivated all plugins (except cornerstone, which won’t actually let me deactivate it) and it’s still happening.
