I tried the instructions I found in your forum for re-installing the theme and visual composer but I am still having problems. I contacted the support group for Visual Composer and they directed me back to you, saying I needed to delete the version of visual composer that came packaged with your theme. Can you tell me which are the relevant files in the x folder that I need to delete so that I can install the stand alone version of Visual Composer that I bought?
FYI
I’m using WordPress 3.9.2
Mac OS 10.9.4
I bought Visual Composer 4.3
I’m using theme x
I’m using a remote server, so I need to use an FTP client to access the theme once it has been installedThe message I get when I try to install visual composer is:
The plugin does not have a valid header….
Destination folder already exists. /data/25/2/74/116/2889931/user/3185811/htdocs/wordpress4/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/
Plugin install failed.Thank you.
August 26, 2014 at 7:16 am #92361Visual Composer is an integrated plugin that has been customized heavily to work with X. This KB article goes over the specifics – http://theme.co/x/member/kb/integrated-plugins-visual-composer/ Since it is so heavily customized you can not use the standard version of VC but only the one that comes with X. I hope this helps.
September 14, 2014 at 9:25 pm #104761I had the same issue earlier today. I had re-installed wordpress and then re-installed the x-code theme. The first time I had installed wordpress and x, the visual composer installed correctly. However, I had to re-install it and now I am getting the error message: The plugin does not have a valid header.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.
Thank you.
September 14, 2014 at 10:13 pm #104778Hi Rap,
Have you tried installing it using FTP?
Would you mind providing an admin login? I’d like to re-produce the issue you’re getting.
Thanks.

Yes, the js_composer.zip file is for Visual Composer plugin
October 22, 2014 at 1:26 pm #130097I am having the same problem with a failed visual composer install message indicating the destination folder already exists. Please let me know how to proceed.
October 22, 2014 at 11:18 pm #130381Within our main X Template folder, locate the zip file “js_composer.zip” which is under (“x/framework/plugins/“). Unzip the file js_composer.zip and use a FTP Client software (FileZilla Client) to upload it into your server (ROOT/wp-content/plugins) folder.
Once you upload it to the server, log-in to your WordPress back-end and head over to the Plugins -> Installed plugins to activate the Visual Composer plugin.
Thanks!
October 27, 2014 at 1:55 pm #133200I uploaded the files to my server but Visual Composer will not install. A message comes up in WP that indicates the plugin is installing from my server but it actually doesn’t install.
My web host suggested I ask for the exact URL with the file names to download the files again. I would appreciate any further suggestions you may have.
Being new to web design, X is really not helpful for me if I cannot use Visual Composer.

Thanks for providing login credentials.
I was able to install the visual composer plugin in your site.
Also the customizer seems to be working fine from here.

In your homepage there are a bunch of shortcodes that are showing up.
Try to add the codes in text editor http://screencast.com/t/s63CYr4kk
Thanks

May 20, 2015 at 6:35 pm #278225Hi There,
This could mean your server is timing out when it tries to download X Shortcodes. You may be able to check with your host about this. You can also install the plugins manually via WP plugin upload. Download the .zip files on the link below:
yourdomain.com/wp-content/themes/x/framework/plugins/x-shortcodes.zip yourdomain.com/wp-content/themes/x/framework/plugins/js_composer.zip yourdomain.com/wp-content/themes/x/framework/plugins/revslider.zip
Replace the yourdomain.com to your site actual domain.
Thanks!
