I am not able to make the Visual Composer Work. When I add an element clicking on the plus sign say for example Text shortcode I get my Edit Text window with tab Visual and tab Text. But the tab Visual is always empty with no options and the text I am typing is white.
I do have the options in tab Visual when I am using the “Classic Mode” editor.I have updated the plugin WPBakery Visual Composer with the Plugins action update and it’s showing version Version 4.0.4.
I updated as well X-shortcode the same way to Version 2.0.11.
Whatever the element I try to add it seems the Visual Composer is not working properly. Thanks to help.

May 7, 2014 at 4:57 am #41423Hi,
I´ve had similar problem and solved it by updating everything. Make sure, that you have x-theme 1.8.4, x-shortcodes v.2.2.1 and visual composer v. 4.1.2. Also, if you are updating shortcodes by overwriting the files via ftp, delete the old ones first, the newer versions have different file structure.
Cheers, Petr.
May 7, 2014 at 5:58 am #41441I´ve downgraded wordpress to v.3.8.3 and works fine. So I´ll wait till the bug is solved to upgrade to 3.9
May 7, 2014 at 4:14 pm #41848Hi Eder, Petr was right. You could follow his instruction on updating your theme and plugins. Installing x theme and plugins via wordpress admin sometimes causes a partial update issue.
Thank you.
May 7, 2014 at 7:25 pm #41909Many thanks.
I have now deleted the plugins and reinstalled with ftp the latest version with ftp and it works.
The import via wordpress did not update with the latest versions.May 8, 2014 at 2:16 pm #42233Thanks for letting us know you got it working!
May 8, 2014 at 8:00 pm #42388So do we have to buy visual composer then to have it work with the WP 3.9?
May 9, 2014 at 7:43 am #42551How do we resolve this then? I have codex 2.0.1 and there is no way of updating this without deleting it and installing the updated version? as for the VC I have version 4.0.4 so that needs updating too. How do I do this? Do I have to buy the plugin and instal it? Wasnt the $60 we paid for the theme supposed to come with the most up to date plugins? Can someone help me without having to install vi FTP please. Thank you!
May 9, 2014 at 8:43 am #42574I’m having the same issue, still have the 4.0.4 version of visual composer and the wordpress updater doesn’t seem to understand that there is a new version.
I don’t mind doing this update via ftp but I don’t want to buy the plugin since we all have paid for this with X.
regards
May 10, 2014 at 3:07 pm #42964Hi Guys,
You can download latest VC along with the latest x theme, so might need to get the latest X theme.
If you check instructions from http://theme.co/x/member/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/ , you can see that the plugin was located at /x/framework/plugins/ of your theme.
Please check the instructions for more details.
Hope this helps.
