    Hi,

I’ve just updated to WordPress 4.5.1. but now when I try to edit a published page using the Visual Composer elements, they don’t appear.

I’ve read something about having to purchase a license but also read that VC comes with X and it’s been no problem all this time…

One other question, what happens if I start to edit a page in Cornerstone that was origianlly made with visual composer??

I have some urgent edits to make, thanks for your help

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Make sure you are editing the page that built with Visual Composer. You can’t edit a Cornerstone page with Visual Composer and vice versa. Cornerstone pages are stored as serialized data, in the post meta table. Visual Composer doesn’t use serialized data, so it will be affected.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

I’ve always only edited pages built with Visual Composer but now that I’ve updated to WP 4.5.1. Visual Composer doesn’t work anymore, the tool doesn’t open in any of the pages and the elements don’t appear in WP.

As you can see in the attached file the elements aren’t even there…

What can I do to be able to use it again?, my whole site is built using VC

    thanks

    Hi there,

Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi

Please check the two attachments of screenshots I’m including: when I try to update the Visual Composer plugin it gives me an error and doesn’t either allow me to access “Settings” because I don’t have permission.

Also says that: “To receive automatic updates license activation is required.”

Does that mean that I have to pay 34$ for a license and that VC does not work anymore with X automatically???

    Thanks

    Hi there,

No, you don’t need to purchase license to update VC.

Please try resetting your WordPress files and folders permissions. The correct settings can be found at http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/08/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/.

Let us know how it goes.
