Sye Ten BruggencateParticipantI built my site using X Theme a year ago. There were some issues with it due to third party plugins which have now been resolved. I have notice though, that the “visual composer” option is no longer available as an edit option on my pages only “Backend Editor” and “Frontend editor.”
I have resisted installing “Cornerstone” because I simply do not have the time to learn a new editing system for my site. If X keeps modifying to a point where I have to learn how to update my site, every time you update the editing system, the theme is useless to me.
Is there any way the visual composer can be restored as an edit option so I can edit my site as I have always done?
I tried the “frontend” editor and the page wouldn’t even load.
Please help me out (preferably with more than “Install Cornerstone” as again, I do not have the time to learn cornerstone).
I hope that you can provide support to the average client like myself. This theme was advertised as being easy to use, but having to learn how to use all the updates is a colossal pain. I will seriously consider ditching the theme if you cannot offer some kind of support for this issue.
Thanks in advance!

ZeshanMemberHi Sye,
Thanks for writing in!
You can use Visual Composer without issues. It seems you have not installed Cornerstone yet. Cornerstone is a replacement of X – Shortcodes plugin and necessary to be installed along with the X theme for it work properly. If you don’t want to use Cornerstone, you can keep editing your pages using Visual Composer or WordPress standard editor without any issues.
You can install Cornerstone under Addons > Extensions. Once it’s installed, please deactivate and delete X – Shortcodes plugin under “Plugins > All Plugins”. After that you should be able to edit pages in Visual Composer.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Sye Ten BruggencateParticipantThanks for your reply.
I installed Cornerstone, but when I click on the Visual Composer icon to edit my pages as I always have, it takes me to a link where it asks for $34 for Visual Composer.
This was always a part of X Theme in the past. Am I doing something wrong?

Prasant RaiModeratorHello Sye,
Thanks for writing in! If you have already validated the X theme (https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/). First delete the current version of Visual Composer plugin installed, by head over to Plugins section within your WordPress back-end.
Then you can head over to X Addons and Extensions section and from there you can install the Visual Composer plugin which then install the latest X theme compatible version from our repository.
Hope that helps.
