Hi,

I am setting up portfolio pages and have 4 issues:

1. Visual Composer component not available on portfolio items?
2. I imported media as gallery but cannot see anything to edit within post? I have deselected featured imaged, set to gallery and checked Media under Featured Content. Where are images and how do I modify order of slides?
3. Are there options for slide rotation? currently I have arrows on upper left corner.
4. I changed the title of portfolio page from Sierra to The Grip, but it did not update permalink?

Hi Again –

I see that the only way to add images as a gallery to featured image area is to literally upload fresh from computer. This requires no option for later editing? This makes no sense to me. What happens if I need to swap out an image or change the order? In addition, if I already have images in media library, I am essentially adding dupe images? Do I have this right?

I need the slide show to be within the featured image area and not as a slider within post so any additional tips to make editing the gallery as a featured image would be appreciated.

Resolved No. 1 Visual Composer issue within the Settings area.
Clarifying No 3. This option only available if you create a slider and that won’t work from me because a slider only appears in post not the featured image area. Is there another way?

Hi Christina,

That is how wordpress works. When you upload images in a post, they will become attachment. And featured gallery pickups these attachment to be used as slides. It can’t pick images from content, because content can have unnecessary images (like icons, sharing buttons, etc.).

And the only way to tell where an images belong is to attach them.

All images uploaded attached or not will be manageable at Admin > Media > Library where you can detach, attach, or delete existing images.

To change of slides order, you must upload them one by one for that post. First upload will always comes first. There is available plugins that can do sorting for existing images at media library, though not sure if will work on x.

There is another way to use your specific gallery slider on each featured area, but that needs template editing. And you may need to consult to a developer. I added this to my list, and I’ll see if possible as another feature.

Hi Christina,

Can you quickly re-save the permalinks under Settings > Permalinks, and just click the Save Changes button and see if that updates the permalinks of your portfolio pages.

Hi –

That is the one of the things I tried, and no go. I literally have to change it manually. I have it set to Post in the Settings > Permalinks
