Hello – it appears that I need to update my visual composer plugin. I tried to update it on the “Plugins” page, but it didn’t work.
So I followed the additional instructions, went to SETTINGS, VISUAL COMPOSER, PRODUCT LICENSE, and have entered my ENVATO USERNAME and my SECRET API Key, but am having trouble finding my Visual Composer Key (The instructions on it aren’t very clear).
Can you please help me, thanks.
April 15, 2015 at 9:54 pm #250878Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
There is no visual composer key and if you wish to enable visual composer’s automatic update directly from the author, then you must buy a license directly from them.
X’s bundled visual composer latest version is 4.3.5. And must stay as is because of the compatibility added between X theme and VC 4.3.5. And the update should be provided by us but doesn’t mean we will always follow the latest version directly from the author (unless there are necessary updates needed from the author).
If your VC is still older than 4.3.5, then you should delete it and install a new copy at Admin > Addons > Extensions.
Hope this helps.

I have version 4.1.3 (I purchased the X theme on December 13, 2014).
I have a couple of more questions:
1.)Does deleting and installing a new copy mean that the work I’ve done with VC will be deleted?
2.)Does deleting and installing a new copy mean that I have to pay for the newer version of VC?
Thank you for your follow through and patience.
April 16, 2015 at 3:19 pm #251569Hi There,
1.) Page/post content would not be affected by re-installing or updating any plugin, what you have on the content should be remain. 2.) No, the vc that you’ll be installing from extensions is the bundle version from X theme.
Hope this shed some lights, Cheers!
