I am trying to use Visual Composer to create pages, however, with the X integration turned on, you cannot use the Design Options to position elements. This is a big issue for us. So we have disabled the X integration to be able to use that feature, however, now you cannot add about 70% of the blocks available!
We just want to be able to add basic image blocks and text blocks, but there is no way to do that with the X integration turned off it seems. Am I missing something? It is extremely important for us to be able to adjust the positioning of blocks and elements WITHOUT having to touch code manually for each block. Is it not possible to do this with the bundled plugin with the X integration turned off?
Is there a workaround so we can have access to all of the Visual Composer block options AND be able to use the design options panel to position elements with X Theme?
If not, this would be a deal breaker for us unfortunately as we were disappointed with Cornerstones lack of ability to finely position elements without having to manually write in custom CSS for EVERY block. Huge time suck…
Thank you!
April 3, 2016 at 11:59 pm #865383Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! What you are getting is usual. When you are disabling X Integration, you will get the native feature of Visual Composer only. Unfortunately it’s not possible to get everything at a time due to some technical difficulties. Note that Visual Composer is not managed by Themeco so we can’t control all functionality of this plugin.
We always recommend to use Cornerstone as it’s managed by Themeco and it’s the native editor for X.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers!
April 4, 2016 at 12:21 pm #866276Thanks for the reply, however, you are telling me I will get the native features of visual composer only, which is not totally accurate. I use visual composer on other sites and it has about 10-20 more options in the native version than is showing on the X theme when I disable the integration. This means that you guys are actually disabling many features in the plugin without the X integration active.
For example, I am not able to even create a basic text box or image box with visual composer with the X integration turned off. These are very basic features for visual composer, which you are telling me I should have access to with the X integration turned off, but I do not. Am I missing something? Is there another problem?
Thank you!
April 4, 2016 at 11:10 pm #867034Hi There,
Yes, you should have access to that. See this video screencast of settings and what elements are available if you turned it off:http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cDfhfj1yjf
Hope this helps.
