I have taken over the management of a site, but I do not seem to be able to edit pages using the Frontend editor: if I try to load it I just get the blinking icon on a blank page.
I’ve already tried adding the line to my wp-config.php file to increase the memory, but this has not resolved the problem.
I’m using WP version 4.2.1, X-theme version 3.2.5 and shortcode plugin version 3.0.5.
Site is http://www.3tsc.co.uk
May 4, 2015 at 8:37 am #265035Hey There,
Thanks for writing in.
Visual Composer has a Frontend Editor. You can enable it in Settings > Visual Composer > X Integration. However, we can’t recommend the use of the front end editor, which is why it’s disabled by default. If you use the front end editor, you should use the Visual Composer native shortcodes. Due to complexities in how the front end editor works, it’s difficult to get all our shortcodes to work seamlessly with it, without rewriting a good deal of them. As mentioned in our Visual Composer Knowledge Base article, this is not something we’re able to provide support for. We would suggest using the backend editor if you want to use X Shortcodes.
We’re certainly looking into better ways to integrate with it, but most involve drastically changing markup to fit VC’s proprietary grid system. Potentially this could effect thousands of existing sites, so it’s a tricky balance.
Thanks for understanding.

May 4, 2015 at 12:30 pm #265157Hi There,
This kind of issue has a lot of reason why it has happen. Would you mind sharing us your admin credentials so we could further investigate your visual composer.
Don’t forget to set it as private reply.
Meanwhile, You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Thanks.

Thanks for the credentials and sorry you are having this issue between Visual Composer and WP 4.2.1. I already forwarded this issue for closer checks. But I can’t promise a timely response since visual composer is something we don’t develop. All we could do is forward issues and requests.
Thanks.

I am having this problem with http://scope.la
I was able to get the visual composer frontend editor to work when editing the homepage, but when I clicked on the frontend editor on our pricing page- it would just get stuck on “loading” and would stay there indefinitely until I’d hit the back button? How can this be fixed
June 25, 2015 at 4:28 pm #313122Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)
You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/x/member/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

There is a javascript error that I’m not sure what causes it. Would you mind disabling all other plugins except cornerstone and visual composer? Then let us know and we’ll check.
Then please update your visual composer to 4.7 too.
Thanks.
