Hello to my wonderful X theme support team!

I have implemented the code from this page https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/ethos-featuring-video-instead-of-image-on-blog-roll/ to my ethos themed site (i’ll post the url again in a private message below) and it works swimmingly.

I was curious if you have an easy implementation to make these videos appear in a lightbox, as they currently play pretty small due to the layout of my blog index (which we don’t want to change).

Also, is there a way to enable this so that it works on posts that are selected as “Index Featured Post Layout.” This isn’t THAT big of a deal, but it would be nice as well.

Hi there,

Thanks for posting in.

I tried but a bit buggy, it will only work with valid video URL instead of the embed code. Though I have one in my mind, using inline content (good for embed type video), I’m not just sure if it will work. And you have to revert the video back to the thumbnail since lightbox will only work on buttons and links.

Would you mind providing your admin and FTP login credentials in private reply?

I could add this too as feature request 🙂

Hmm that makes sense with the thumbnail/button/link theory. I think i’ll just leave it as is for the time being then!
