    Hi All,

I was wondering if it is possible within the portfolio to set a featured video rather than an image. What I’m really after is the look found here on this site. In it, you can see that there is a static image for the feature, but when you hover your mouse over it a preview of the video starts playing. I’d really like to achieve this effect on my video portfolio page. Is such a thing possible perhaps in coding to make this work within the portfolio feature? I really appreciate any insight on this….thanks!

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Getting video/media to appear on the portfolio index page is an option you can turn on. You need to edit your portfolio item and make sure these settings are selected:

Media Type >> Set to Video
Featured Content >> Set to Media

    video thumbnail settings

    Hope this helps – thanks!

Is there some sort of CSS or something I may be able to put on my page (juliarajchel.com) that displays a preview of the video when you hover over it? Appreciate any help on this… I’d really like a preview of the video when you hover over it on my portfolio. Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thanks for updating the thread! Something must be conflicting and we’ll need to narrow things down. Upon checking your site, we see that you still have X-Shortcodes installed. Please delete X-Shortcodes. Cornerstone retires and replaces X-Shortcodes. The shortcodes required for X to funciton properly are within Cornerstone, hence it is a required plugin. Having both installed (even while deactivated) will cause conflicts.

If that doesn’t help, you could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how that goes. Hope this helps – thanks!

    Hi there,

The, “Problem” you are referencing–is that the fact that I cannot see the, “Featured Content” section to where I’d choose “Media” in the portfolio page settings? If not, what is the problem you are referring to? ***I’d really just like an option whether it’s coding or something so that the videos displayed on my home page there show a preview of themselves when you hover over them with the mouse.*** Is that possible?

I tried deleting all unnecessary 3rd party plugins, including x-shortcode. I still do not see the “Featured Content” option in the portfolio settings–assuming that’s what I need in order to achieve the desired result I noted above.

    Hi there,

Please try to disable all plugins except cornerstone, clear cache and check if it solves the issue.
If the issue persists would you please try to install wordpress and X again, your files could be corrupted.

Let us know how it goes.
