I can’t get a video to embed when I use the visual composer, embeds work without visual composer fine. I’ve tried to paste in YouTube link and let oEmbed handle the rest, and using the YouTube embed code. Also tried the shortcode without visual composer.
X shows only a the YouTube link. I have a sub theme installed.
Any ideas what could it be?

November 3, 2014 at 9:07 am #137459It wasn’t online yet, but now is. The dev site is here http://dev.artspur.at/#x-content-band-8 The video is not showing correctly.
Also tried it to another page just to be sure that it’s not the individual post that is bad somehow http://dev.artspur.at/contact/

– Updated the theme to latest

Upon checking, it seems you were using Visual editor to add
<iframe>
embed code. Please use Text tab instead (see: http://prntscr.com/53mu7k).Also I’m not able to see X theme neither in Admin Dashboard nor using FTP. Please confirm that.
Thanks!
November 11, 2014 at 5:00 am #142355I tried all sorts of different embeds in all different containers.
I totally neglected to mention that I use WordPress as a git submodule and have moved the content folder to
/dev.artspur.at/content
so the themes resides now in/dev.artspur.at/content/themes
.November 11, 2014 at 11:11 am #142595Hi there,
I am unable to login to your WordPress admin panel using the above given credentials, would you mind confirming the credentials again?
Also, it seems you have made some changes in your website using child theme, could you try switching back to your parent X theme and see if you still face the same issues?
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you.
November 14, 2014 at 12:24 pm #145245Goddamnit, I made the user to the live site DB and then overwrote with a local import. I recreated the user there now with the same password.
I tested it also without the child theme, only with X, still not working. I also just updated to 3.0.
How should the video embed work? Just paste in the youtube link, right? And let the oEmbed take care of the rest.
November 15, 2014 at 5:05 am #145604Hi there,

November 10, 2015 at 3:40 pm #660193Hi,
I’m not able to get my Youtube video to embed into my visual composer. I was able to get my video to embed on my homepage by copying and pasting in classic mode but it’s not in the right position so I’m trying to use visual composer. Since I don’t understand the the techie language much and one missed step could lose me I need simple detailed steps to execute this.
I tried copying and pasting the Youtube video link address and embedded code in the video section of my visual composer and tried using them with the video short code but neither worked.
1) Do I need to use to use the video short code?
2) Does the video short code go with the embed Youtube code or the Youtube video address?
3 Will my video automatically resize to fit inside the container next to the first picture at the top right on my page that says A Simple Plan? If not what is the best way to do this?
Just to let you know I already read the advice offered to other people having this challenge but the info wasn’t simple enough for me to follow and the video I found showed how to embed a video (which I did) but not in visual composer.
Thanks,
Jim
