    Hi there,

    As the title says my section backgroundvideo is working prefectly in chrome and firefox, but in safari it takes ages to load the video. In chrome and firefox it loads instantly.
    It’s an mp4 file, self hosted, 14MB. I do it with vidual composer and I don’t want to use slider revolution for this, because of my page performance.

    I’ve already deactivated all third partie plugins and couldn’t get rid of the issue.(I re-activated them for now). Also I dactivated cloudflare and all caching and still no success…

    Also I’ve noticed that my font:Oswald is not loaded in safari – why is that? It’s loaded in all other browsers…

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in! I have tested and yes it takes a few more seconds to load in Safari. As you are using 14MB video, it’s not usual at all and you should use optimized video to get expected result. It’s not causing by theme or WordPress or your video rather Safari’s performance due to larger size of the video.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks for the reply! I understand! But the difference is huge….it loads instantly on chrome and firefox….really instantly! And it takes ages on safari….there’s such a huge difference! Do you understand why this is confusing me? What is a good size for good performaing (in terms of loading speed) page?

    Hi there,

    The first thing should be done before we continue is that the file should be optimized. For background video the video size should be at most 2MB. Please optimize the video and let us know how it goes after optimizing.
