If I use Cornerstone to set up a page, I lose access to my Yoast SEO on-page settings for title, description, and other meta info.
I had a devil of a time yesterday and it ended up that I had to totally remake my Cornerstone post in the visual editor, because every time I changed the yoast settings, even if the ‘edit with cornerstone’ box showed at the top of the post area in the editor, it wiped out all my changes I had made and saved in Cornerstone.
What are best practices for managing on-page SEO using a plugin like Yoast, which is pretty much industry standard?
March 30, 2016 at 8:29 pm #859868Hi There,
Thanks for writing in! If you used Cornerstone in creating a page, you can always edit the page in WordPress page editing screen so that you can setup Yoast SEO for your on page SEO settings. As long as you do not switch editor tab (visual, text, cornerstone), Cornerstone data will be preserved when you hit the update button. The steps that should be done is to create your page first and set your on page SEO settings later using the ‘Edit Page’.
Hope this helps.
March 31, 2016 at 1:25 pm #861205That’s what I was doing but as soon as I hit the blue ‘update page’ button after doing my Yoast settings, my page changes done in Cornerstone and saved before going to ‘edit page’ were lost.
