Hello,
I have noticed that there are quite a few posts in this forum on X theme licencing.I also use a live development server to build client websites and it is like this http://www.myserver.co.uk/devs/webprojectnamehere
Can I use a single licence of X theme while I am developing a project in my dev server? Can this single licence used for multiple different client projects in the same dev server?
Obviously when a project is completed and the website migrated on the proper domain name I will then buy the licence.
Is that allowed? Do I need an API keys for each project?
Many Thanks
RegardsRoberto

Thanks for writing in! You can generate API Key for your staging domain for now. When you are done with that and ready to move to your live domain then just revoke the API Key for the staging domain and generate it for the live site. So you don’t need to purchase separate license for this.
But if you need to run both seamlessly then you need to purchase separate license for the staging domain.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
March 28, 2016 at 1:05 pm #855415Hello,
No I don’t need any staging domain to run a clone of my websites.
The process is very simple:I have already bought a licence for X theme.
it is installed on mai root on my dev servver, like this:
http://mydevserver.com/In my dev server there will be different projects:
http://mydevserver.com/devs/projectclientone
http://mydevserver.com/devs/projectclienttwo
http://mydevserver.com/devs/projectclientthreeEach project will require a WordPress installation with X theme installed as well and for what I have understood I can generate an API key for “each” project. So with only ONE LICENCE of X theme, can I build multiple websites under the same domain name?
Let’s pretend that the website under /devs/projectclientone is completed and I need to move to an actual domain name like http://www.projectclientone.com so what I do? I create a full site backup with BackupBuddy and migrate the site from http://mydevserver.com/devs/projectclientone to http://projectclientone.com
When the migration is completed I will:
1) Erase the project website from dev server
2)After that I will need to login Themeco and buy a licence on behalf of my client. To recap:
In my dev server I can use only one Xtheme licence for multiple projects but when I migrate a completed project I have to buy a new licence. Did I get it right? Many Thanks and sorry for the many questions.
Best Regards

Yes, you got that right. Should you require any further assistance with X|THEME and Cornerstone, please feel free to get in touch with us.
Just to clarify, you can use the X|Theme on multiple projects on your dev server. But you can only validate one project per license.
Thanks.
