    Hi,

    I’m running http://www.element-terre.org/neo/
    here’s my setup:
    Wordpress:4.2.2
    X version: 4.0.1
    X – Shortcodes Version: 3.0.5
    X – ChildTheme Version : 1.0.0

After update to 4.0.1 here are the following problems I am now facing:

    Admin side:

    1. VC has disappeared from the Backend
    2. Edit with VC on Front Page doesn’t work
    3. Edit in Text Mode is not working, only Visual Editor is working
    4. WordPress SEO by Yoast: only the block’s title is present through backend pages/posts. All datas are gone or invisible.

    Homepage (front end)

    1. Pictures below Rev slider are gone (see http://prntscr.com/7f4um7)
    2. White text invisible on 3 black blocs (see http://prntscr.com/7f4vev)

Obviously, you can imagine my client is absolutely upset and so am I as I don’t know what to do.
I can’t spend any time to rebuild this site under Cornerstone. I bought this theme because of Visual Composer, it used to be ok but not anymore and I find it unfair to release new versions that break the work spent on building the site.

I rely on your professional abilities to help me sort all this out ASAP.
    Thank you for your understanding

    Hi there,

Please install Cornerstone from X Addons -> Extensions and disable X shortcodes plugin , this should fix the issues.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply.
    Ok, done what you advised.

    Homepage displays now ok.

All other items remain unchanged :

Thank you for helping me to fix this out.
    Regards

    Hi,

You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Thanks for updating the thread! I have checked your site and after much checking we find that it is still due to a conflict and/or corrupt update.

you have lots of console errors even after most plugins have been switched off: see: http://prntscr.com/7g28tf

    We suggest trying the following:

    1. Uninstall x-shortcodes completely. If this doesn’t help move to the other suggestions.
    2. Uninstall VC and reinstall.
    3. Revert back to your backup before you updated, then run the update again. Make sure that switch off and clear your caching plugins before the update.

As best practice we recommend reverting to your backup before update, then also deploying the backup to a development environment and running the update there so your live site remains working while you are working any fixes needed.

One any issues are resolved then you can push the updates to the live site.

Let us know how that goes. Hope this helps – thanks!

    Hello There,

Upon checking your site, you have successfully updated to X 4.0.1, VC4.5.2 and Cornerstone1.0.1. Your page is already displaying properly and working fine in our end. http://prntscr.com/7gof0n

Please confirm that the issue has been resolve. If you end, it doesn’t display well, we would suggest that your clear your browser’s cache and test the page again.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your reply.
I first went back to an older X version (3.5…) I guess, with WP 3.8. Things went back correct but Visual Composer didn’t worked on the frontend while it did work a few weeks ago.

Then I re-installed the last X & WP versions. Since VC still doesn’t work in frontend, I am now transforming everything through Cornerstone. Despite a huge waste of time and money (my client won’t pay me for this job), things seem to work properly except one plug-in (Extended Tags), but its author is working on it to make it display properly.

I consider this issue is resolved.
    Thank you.

I had this same issue, my whole site is gone, and i had rebuilt and i pulled my hair out my client wants to kill me. i don’t have shortcodes installed. i had a child theme that was not x that was fine, build it cornerstone, compatible, and then boom, update it’s gone. I can view it it any theme I want, including the paret theme genesis, x is fine, but my chid theme, which was fine, is gone. front page that i spent hours and hours and hours on, gone. posts, gone. everything..gone… posts cannot be recovered, pages still exist, and i can’t get it back. i would love an attempt at repairing the issue. i built it in cornerstone, i loved cornerstone, but now, I’m pissed.
