    Hello,

    I noticed that I am at version 2.6.0 and see that there is a much newer version. I tried to update but everything went wonky on me. I checked and my child theme was still active. I reverted to the old version and everything is ok again. Do I have to rebuild my site if I update now?

    X version: 2.6.0
    NO CORNERSTONE
    x-shortcode:2.5.0

    I tried to create a test site to figure this out but I think I can only have one copy of X right?

    Hi Dale,

    Thanks for writing in! You should keep updated everything regularly to avoid any vulnerability. It seems you are using very older version and you might face some issue. I’d suggest you to setup a staging site and update everything. Note that X Shortcode has been deprecated and replaced by Cornerstone so you don’t need to use it anymore. To setup a staging site you don’t need to purchase another copy but if you want to validate and enable automatic update then you need to validate it to get those.
