As the title states, it appears lazy loading is no longer working after updating to 4.0.7 (which included a new version of revolution slider). I have tried both of their lazy load options (“smart” and “single”) and have cleared my page cache.
I have also notice that if i disable the loading of RevSlider libraries globally and specify th Pages to include RevSlider libraries, the slider does not load at all on the two pages i have used the slider.
Please advise.
Thank you,meo
Edit: Also just noticed my ‘arrows’ on the slides appear to be Chinese characters instead of the typical arrows that are selected in the slider options. The strange thing is the Chinese characters only appear in google chrome, but appear normal in firefox.

I have tried:
1. Deactivating and reactivating the plugin
2. Disabling other plugins to eliminate conflicts
3. Repeatedly attempting to disable and enable the settings like lazy loadingPlease advise.

August 25, 2015 at 2:12 am #368487Hi Meo,
I updated your slider global settings and it seems to be working now.
Kindly check on your end.
Thanks
August 25, 2015 at 2:47 am #368510Which global setting did you change? The lazy loading is still not working as evident in the following test where the images are listed at the end.

The arrows are still hit and miss with different characters, but I had that part working a few minutes ago.
Thank you,

August 25, 2015 at 2:57 am #368521I just tried to use the Hesperiden arrows on the homepage slider and it will not stay without giving the Chinese characters… and yet it will work on the eyewear page slider.
I have a feeling something is not right with the install of this slider revolution plugin. Is it possible to reinstall it or restore from a previous backup of mine? I did not get any warnings during the update… but these ‘flakey’ settings are making me doubt this latest version/install.
Thank you,
meo
August 25, 2015 at 11:50 am #369028Hi,
We don’t customize RevSlider functionality in any way, so any “breaking changes” are due to plugin architecture or a rewrite, or possible CDN/caching. That said, upon checking your website, I can see that the RevSlider lazy load functionality is working just fine at my end. When the slide is not active on first page load, it is showing a dummy image (see: http://prntscr.com/88rgms) and as soon as the slide become active, it is showing proper image (see: http://prntscr.com/88rgui).
If you are using a caching plugin or CDN, you may need to purge its cache.
Thanks!
August 25, 2015 at 2:58 pm #369189If you look at the history of the tests with pingdom, the page had 28 requests and a page size of approx 750kb. After the update, it is 33 and 1mb. The difference on the waterfall is the 5 images of the slider. I am not using a cdn and the cache has been cleared many times. Also the issues with the arrows is still there, so I don’t know what else to do.
Is it possible to revert to the older version of this plugin? I have backups of it, but would need to know which method you would recommend for restoring it.
Thanks,
meo
August 25, 2015 at 4:41 pm #369277Well, it appears pingdom may be using some caching or something as webpagetest.org shows the size as normal. Please check out the slider on the eye glasses page and see how the arrows have the Chinese characters when viewed with chrome. Why would this be? I simply want the hesperion arrows.

meoEDIT: After running it multiple times from webpagetest.org I can no longer get the smaller page size with fewer requests.
August 25, 2015 at 9:08 pm #369440Hey Meo,
Please try clearing your browser history and check again.
Thanks.
August 25, 2015 at 10:06 pm #369468Thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately, nothing changed after clearing all of my browser history.

August 26, 2015 at 4:58 am #369791In that case, please clear your cache and disable all third party plugins so we could investigate without conflicts. If it’s proven that lazy loading does not work, we’ll report it to our development team and they might collaborate with ThemePunch regarding this issue.
I’ve tested your site in WebPageTest.org and GTMetrix though and the results were fine.
