Hi there, I’m getting problems editing page content after updating to WordPress 4.5.3
I can no longer see or edit any page content and this error is thrown in the console:Uncaught TypeError: $template.get is not a functionhtml2element @ composer-view.js?ver=4.6.1:146render @ composer-view.js?ver=4.6.1:157appendShortcode @ composer-view.js?ver=4.6.1:535(anonymous function) @ composer-view.js?ver=4.6.1:476(anonymous function) @ load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,jquery-ui-core,utils,jquery-ui-widget,jquery…:62m.each.m.forEach @ load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,jquery-ui-core,utils,jquery-ui-
.. etcIt seems like the _.template function has changed after updating from underscore version 1.6 to 1.8.3
I’m currently on X theme 4.0.6
Will updating my theme to the latest version solve this problem?
I updated to Cornerstone 1.3.0 but that doesn’t seem to fix anything.

Thanks for providing the details. It appears that you are using an older version of X and Cornerstone. Please make sure that you are fully updated (Theme and Plugins). Most of the time, out dated theme and plugins will create issues in your site.
Our latest versions are:
X Theme: 4.6.0
Cornerstone: 1.3.0
Visual Composer: 4.12You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

The error is originating from visual composer which is also dependent to older underscore. The issue will stay even updating the theme. The fix should be added directly to the plugin.
I also checked visual composer’s changelog and it doesn’t mention about underscore, we’ll going to wait for their update too. For the meantime, please downgrade your underscore.
Thanks!
October 24, 2016 at 1:17 am #1227932hi guys did you end up releasing a patch because I’ve downgraded to 1.6.0 only to receive a different problem. I guess downgrading is just not enough.. Here is the javascript error thrown:

October 24, 2016 at 2:34 am #1227985Hi there,
Even with the older version, we’re not having this issue or even on the latest one. This error is new and not related to Underscore library anymore.
Please try updating your visual composer and your WordPress too, they are still old and other software are already updated.
Then let us know when done, or please allow us to do changes and updates so we could check them directly. But make sure you have a backup of your site. This is probably related to WordPress core, I switched to TwentyEleven theme and disabled all the plugins at the same time and that error still persists. You may try that
Thanks!
October 24, 2016 at 6:28 pm #1229017Thanks for that info
Could you please advise what versions of Visual Composer, X theme, Cornerstone and WordPress is required in order to have the content editable? We’ve tried two combinations are they both don’t work:
combo #1:
Wordpress 4.6.1
Visual Composer 4.3.5
Cornerstone 1.3.0
X-theme 4.0.6combo #2:
Wordpress 4.6.1
Visual Composer 4.6.1.
Cornerstone 1.3.3
X-theme 4.6.4October 24, 2016 at 10:27 pm #1229258Hi i noticed x-shortcodes is deactivated and cornerstone is activated
Which one should be used?October 25, 2016 at 1:54 am #1229405Hi There,
Please refer to this page https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/ for the latest compatible version to the latest X|Theme.
Since you’re on the latest WordPress (4.6.1), please update X|theme (4.6.4), Cornerstone (1.3.3), Visual Composer (4.12.1), and other plugins as well to the latest version to avoid any compatibility issue.
Cornerstone is taking over for X – Shortcodes, which you can read much more about here in detail. Please delete the X – Shortcode.
Remember to clear all caches after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Thanks.
