I have activated the “under construction” plugin and enabled it. What to do next so it will show on my home page? I have not any third parties plugins activated, only those who comes with the x-theme.
Thank you for your help.
December 15, 2014 at 10:17 am #164840Hi there,
The basic instructions are there on our Knowledge Base article here (https://theme.co/x/member/kb/extension-under-construction/).
Once you have turned on your Under Construction Add-On you will still see everything as long as you are logged in but anybody just visiting the site will see your Under Construction setup. To test this you can log out or open your site in a new private or incognito window. If you can provide us with your URL, we will also be happy to test this for you.
Also make sure to clear your browser cache and disable any caching plugins when checking.
Hope that helps.

This is not written anywhere in the knowledge base. I have search the internet for hours for a solution, only because you guys didn’t specific in your guide that you should LOG OUT before seeing the result. Not very customer friendly then to tell people who has the same problem, that the solution is in a place, where it’s nowhere to be found.
But great theme π
January 18, 2015 at 6:14 pm #185718Hey there,
We’re sorry that you had a hard time. We assumed that the Under Construction plugin’s function is self explanatory that unregistered users can’t see the site. Since you have access to the backend, you can see your pages. I’ll forward your feedback to our developers and they might include this detail in the Knowledge Base.
Thanks.
February 2, 2015 at 10:11 am #197302I’m having trouble seeing the under construction page also. I’ve logged out at tried from different computers and browsers and just see the wp welcome page. Could you take a look? Nowitsyourlife.com
February 2, 2015 at 12:23 pm #197409Hi Matt,
Thanks for writing in!
Would you mind providing us with WordPress login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please don’t forget to select Set as private reply to ensure your data remains hidden from other users.
Thanks!
February 20, 2015 at 3:17 am #210831I second Dyret’s comments about the knowledge base article missing that one last key piece of information – i.e. once you enable the plugin, anyone not logged in to WP will see the Under Construction page. It is definitely worth adding this in to the KB article to save time & frustration. I take your point that this is standard WP functionality but the first time you use such a page, you won’t know this!
Great theme and great plugin. It has saved me a stack of time already and I’m only at the ‘Under Construction’ page stage π
February 20, 2015 at 1:21 pm #211233Hi Sbg387,
Thank you for you feedback and kind words! π
I’ll forward this to our editorial team.
Thank you.
June 11, 2015 at 1:45 am #298737This post has solved my problem, but it should be clearly mentioned that logged in users won’t see the Under Construction page.
I thought something big was wrong.
Immediately update this into the documentation please.
This will save several others thousands of hours of time.
June 11, 2015 at 2:05 pm #299288Glad to hear that.
Have a great day! π

July 31, 2015 at 9:29 pm #346839Hi @tiberiodamaso,
Thanks for updating this thread!
Your site is displaying a white screen. A white screen usually means there is a fatal PHP error. Can you please enable WP_DEBUG mode? You can do this by opening
wp-config.php
and adding
define( 'WP_DEBUG' , true );
just above/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
For example:define('WP_DEBUG', true); /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
When you revisit the page with the white screen, you should have some error output describing the issue in more detail.
Thank you.

August 6, 2015 at 2:06 pm #352156Hi there,
This is a bug on our end. Please refer to the following post to implement a quick fix for this (https://community.theme.co//forums/topic/under-construction-social-buttons-not-appearing/#post-321658).
Hope that helps.
September 17, 2015 at 8:14 pm #394449It looks like that tidbit about having to log out still hasn’t made it onto the KB. Glad I found this thread.
(newbie question) Can anyone tell me how to select a background image? Looks like the box only receives text…
