Hi, I am unclear about your answer in this thread https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/reactivating-revolution-slider-after-url-change-urgent/

could you please tell me if i am ok to uninstall and then reinstall the revslider plug in, if that is the right thing to do to be able to rebuild my sliders if they can’t be retrieved.

    Hi There,

You need to upgrade X and Revolution Slider to the latest version since you are running WordPress 4.5.1 and the versions you have installed are a bit behind. I believe there is a good chance that you will be able to restore your sliders once you do that.

You might be having a license issue since you moved url and that is why you cannot update.

Please do the following steps and this might fix your issue.

1] Please go to X Addons > Home and revoke the validation.
2] Please login to your account and revoke the license. at https://community.theme.co/my-account/
3] After you have revoke the license, you need to re assign the license again to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
4] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again.

You will be able to update X Cornerstone Revolution Slider and other bundled plugins once your X is validated.

    Hope that helps,

    Joao

That I think is what we are looking for Joao. Thank you very much for your persistence with me here and sorry for the hassle. I thought by just changing the domain of the site as it was I would avoid the problem of the validation of the plug ins but evidently not. We are reinstalling whole thing and will follow those instructions once it’s back up. I’ll report back hopefully to say it is fixed. Thank you again.

Joao, we have done all that and have successfully reinstalled and updated X. We followed your instructions but Revslider still doesn’t want to update or activate. Advice v welcome! I take it you can get access from the site login I gave in private message above if you need to.

    Hi there,

There is two way you can get the updates, one from us since it’s bundled with our theme. Another one is direct from rev. slider’s author. There is no need to activate rev. slider since it’s bundled with our theme, but if you wish to get the direct update from the plugin’s author, then you have to buy the license from them. And use that license to activate your current copy of rev. slider.

The latest version of bundled rev. slider is 5.2.4.1. I checked it and you’re slider is already in its latest version.

Again, if you wish to get direct update and support from the plugin author (not from us), then you’ll have to buy license and activate it.

    Thanks!

No. When I bought the theme I had the functionality to edit slides as part of the X theme package. That is all paid for. I have moved the website and no longer have that original functionality. I have no intention of buying rev slider that was already packaged with the theme, I just want a solution to the problem I am having and the original thing I paid for.

This is clearly a activation problem and I’ve seen it’s not only me, so any help with this specific functionality problem would be greatly appreciated.

I fixed it. I remembered something from a site I did ages ago. I didn’t think I had WP Cache working on this as although the plug in was activated I hadn’t set it up as I wanted to wait till I was on the production domain. I cleared that and it didn’t work right away but I have turned every other plug in on and off as well and none of them affected it. I also ran CC Cleaner, opened the site in IE rather than Chrome where neither it nor the old site had been logged into. But suddenly it worked. I think it was probably the cache and thought you might like to know as I have seen other people having post migration issues.

Anyway, it works and I can launch tomorrow (when I wake up, now nearly 4am).

Thank you to all for help in a major stress.
