debbiepackerParticipantWe posted a message in another thread. It was suggested we open a new topic and post our login info…
I went through one of the X Theme tutorial videos (by Jerad Hill) where he demonstrated how to Setup Demo Content to begin using WordPress. It worked fine with the one we went through in the tutorial (the Expanded Restaurant demo). Afterwards, I cleared all that out and tried to set up the Expanded Church demo.
The result is:
“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”
I tried to load another one (just to see if it would load). I was able to Setup Demo Content for the Expanded Spa demo. I tried the Expanded Church demo a couple more times with no success. Each time it resulted in the message above.
It goes through: “Working on it” then “Hang in there, trying to reconnect”, “experiencing technical difficulties” then “We’re sorry the demo failed to finish importing” and it goes back to the Addons screen.
Can you help?
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
It’s due to internal error. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well?
And please enable your site’s debugging by setting WP_DEBUG to true at your site’s wp-config.php file. You can do that through FTP.
Thanks!

JadeModeratorHi Debbie,
Yes, we could try to check it if you post the logs or the error message that is displayed when you enable WP_Debug although it would be so much easier for us to assist you with this is we will have an FTP access.
Cheers!

debbiepackerParticipantwe have turned on debugging, the changes below were made to wp-config.php
// Enable WP_DEBUG mode
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
define( ‘WP_DEBUG_LOG’, true );// Disable display of errors and warnings
define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false );
@ini_set( ‘display_errors’, 0 );// Use dev versions of core JS and CSS files (only needed if you are modifying these core files)
define( ‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true );but when we did the install we still get the same fail error as before. no information was written to the debug.log file nor to the screen.

JackKeymasterHi there Debbie,
Thanks for writing back!
That’s strange nothing was written to the debug.log file, can you remove
define( ‘WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY’, false ); @ini_set( ‘display_errors’, 0 );from the wp-config, that will hide the output to the screen, which is what we originally wanted, but as it’s not writing to the debug.log, hopefully removing those, should output any errors directly on the screen.
Thank you!

debbiepackerParticipantGood morning. Thanks for the reply. Our IT guy removed the error writing, and I tried it again. We didn’t change anything else on our end and it is working this morning. It that just coincidence, or did you guys change something else on your end?
If I decide to go with another demo, will there be anything else we need to do, or should it work from this point forward?
Thanks again for the help. It is MUCH appreciated. I’m really enjoying X so far. It makes designing so much faster and actually makes designing pages fun for me again (something I haven’t said for years). That being the case, this will be my first stop for a theme purchase should I be designing any other web sites outside the day job.
THANKS!

JadeModeratorHi Debbie,
No, we didn’t change anything in your setup. It could be something on the side of your hosting or it was timing out that time.
If you want to use another demo content, you can simply install it but please note that importing a demo content will overwrite the current customizer settings.
Lastly, thank you for your kind yours. We appreciate it. 🙂
