So, I recently had problems with my X theme install (I believe because I used bad plugin combinations).
I decided to just use my old domain name and not use the plugins that were causing the problems. Now, whenever I load my site, it reverts back to my old domain’s site (even though on Bluehost, it’s “unassigned”).
Whenever I go into Cornerstone, the message in the title of this thread appears.
Right now, it should have NOTHING. No sections, no articles, nothing.
ANY ideas how to fix this? I will eventually move all of my stuff to a different domain, but for now, I want it on this one I’m currently using. It’ll be a problem if it won’t even show up, and if I can’t even use Cornerstone, though.
March 13, 2016 at 7:26 pm #836277Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! If it is reverting back to your old domain’s site, it may be a caching issue on Bluehost or if you recently unassigned the site then it may take some time to take affect.
Just to clarify, we are assuming that you are doing new WordPress install on an old domain and you have installed X there? If so you should have WordPress working without X.
Can you confirm this? If you are then we can check and see why X isn’t loading. If WP is not working properly before X, then you may need to check with Bluehost.
Let us know how that goes. Also, please provide us with login credentials so we can take a closer look on our end once you have cleared it with your host. To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

March 13, 2016 at 8:12 pm #836313Hello There,
It appears that you have installed a caching plugin WP Rocket, please clear your plugin cache before testing your site. This can cause the changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.
You could also try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Hope this helps.
March 13, 2016 at 8:29 pm #836332Clearing cache and disabling all 3rd party plugins do not work. I’m really not sure what could be wrong. Any other ideas?
March 13, 2016 at 8:43 pm #836342Hello There,
I’d recommend that you clear your caching plugin, and disable it during development. This can cause Customizer changes to not take place on the front end. It’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.
I went ahead and I temporarily deactivated HTML Minify and WP Rocket. You should be able to edit the page with Cornerstone right now. You may activate again once you are done developing your site.
Thank you very much.
March 13, 2016 at 8:57 pm #836355Still doesn’t seem to be working. Even the source code says my old site. I made sure there are no redirects.
March 13, 2016 at 9:00 pm #836359Hello There,
I think we are not on the same page. Could you send us some screenshots so that we will have an idea of what you are seeing in your screen right now?
Thank you.
March 13, 2016 at 9:05 pm #836369Gimme a bit. Not on desktop right now.
Just tried doing some testing. If I create a test page and use the builder, it works fine. The second I change it to the front page, it reverts back to the old messed up page with the recent posts and nothing else.
March 13, 2016 at 9:25 pm #836400Hi there,
I see, it works, but it only handles different content for the front page. Could be cache.
Hmm, if we’ll export the front page, it will only export the wrong one. The temporary solution I can see for now is to re-compose your front page. The data could be corrupted.
Can you try that? Or is it okay if I do the editing and mess with it? 🙂
Thanks!
March 13, 2016 at 9:34 pm #836406I think it may be a problem with Bluehost. I’m trying to backup my WordPress to where it originally was.
I downloaded the SQL file, just not sure where to put it.
March 13, 2016 at 9:40 pm #836413Nevermind. Backup didn’t do anything…this is ridiculous. I didn’t change anything, and then everything just went to crap, and now my site is gone.
March 13, 2016 at 9:41 pm #836415If you can edit it and see if you can help, please do so. I’d REALLY appreciate it!
March 13, 2016 at 9:47 pm #836421None of my dashboard pages will even load now…
Screw it, I’m just gonna delete my site.
