HelloParticipantHi,
The Ubermenu scroll bar is not showing. I have checked the box in the settings Appearance – Ubermenu – Submenu for it to show but no luck. The Submenus that the scrollbar should show are both the Mens and Womens in the top level menu on the front/shop page.
In Chrome at 100% screen, the menu goes below the fold and thus I need the scrollbar.
But in IE at 100% screen, the menu doesn’t go under the fold but there is still no scrollbar.
Is it because the maximum height of the submenu of 600px has not been breached?
Even so, I need the scrollbar for Chrome as the menu goes below the fold.
Furthermore, in Chrome you can’t scroll down to see the other submenus under the second level submenu. The top level is Women – then Designers even using the page scrollbar, let alone the Ubermenu scrollbar which is not there.
I don’t want this to happen to the other top level menus as well including Men. Especially when I add more submenus.
Will this be fixed with the Ubermenu scrollbar?
I have attached screenshots of the menu settings and both Chrome and IE menus.
Please check and turn on the scrollbar. Kindly let me know where the setting is or what needed to be done.
Many thanks,

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for posting in.
You should add value to Mega Submenu Max Height, scrollbar will only appear if its content overflows from its container and that’s only possible if the container has fix height. And it means it’s only applicable for mega menu.
Thanks!

HelloParticipantHi,
I have added value to Mega Submenu Max Height of 500 and 400px but no difference. That’s what I have, a Mega submenu is it not? So, it should be working right?
If not, what is the point of having extra stacks below which you can’t see because of now, users cannot scroll down to those submenus.
Thank you.

RadModeratorHi there,
But your submenu is just about 250px on wide desktop screen, and 400px on small desktop screen. It’s said on the option that the sub-menu that’s taller than max height will get the scrollbar. The 250px and 400px is smaller than 500px max height, and 400px is equal to 400px max height, hence, they aren’t taller than max height.
I also checked and you have custom CSS in Ubermenu
.ubermenu-main .ubermenu-item.ubermenu-active .ubermenu-submenu-drop.ubermenu-submenu-type-mega { overflow: visible; }This prevent the scrollbar from appearing.
Thanks.

HelloParticipantHi Rad,
Thank you for your reply and help! I have adjusted the max height to 700px and 200px but the scrollbar does not appear. Is that how the height is measured or would it mean I would have to add more columns and submenus to go over the default max height of 600px?
But does that not contradict the purpose of having a max height setting? So you can set what is the max height?
As for the custom CSS, please tell me where it is. I have looked in Appearance – Custom – Custom CSS and I can’t see it.
Or where it is?
Do you advise to remove the CSS? I don’t remember adding it so I don’t know why is it there if the settings allow for the scrollbar?
Will removing it cause any side affects to the functions of Ubermenu?
Many thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
No, you just made it bigger. As the option’s description implies, the scrollbar will only appear IF sub-menu content height is bigger than max height. Your sub-menu content height should be bigger than 500px max height for the scroll bar to apepar, but your sub-menu content height is just about 250px, hence, no sidebar. Try setting the max height to 200px.
Thanks.

RadModeratorHi there,
It’s because of this, I recommended that it should be removed from your Ubermenu custom CSS.
.ubermenu-main .ubermenu-item.ubermenu-active .ubermenu-submenu-drop.ubermenu-submenu-type-mega { overflow: visible; }I’m trying to find it but I’m not sure how it’s been added. Instead of removing it, just add this to override it.
.ubermenu-main .ubermenu-item.ubermenu-active .ubermenu-submenu-drop.ubermenu-submenu-type-mega { overflow: auto !important; }Thanks.

LelyModeratorHi There,
Thank you for the screenshot and detailed explanation.
Please adjust max-height settings from 400px to just 220px. Just enough to show just one ROW of submenu columns. 400px is too much and it will overflow when the screen is short like what you did on the screenshot. And since submenu display like a popup it’s height should always be below screen height so we don’t need to access the main scroll bar of the site.Hope this helps.

HelloParticipantHi,
Thank you but now ALL the Women submenu categories are not showing until I hover over the space below submenu Designers. So, if you hover over Women and scroll down there is nothing there. This is even more concerning as users will see a blank space where they should be a list/submenus and think there are no products available.
And if you scroll back up and hover out of the menu to the main page and go back, the submenus have disappeared again and only show when you go back and hover again under Designers.
Please look into this.
Thank you.

LelyModeratorHello There,
I can see this issue now. But upon thorough checking, I can’t find anything that might cause this. There’s no extra CSS or action from other option that might result into this. Would you mind trying the NEW ROW option? See this:http://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-3/settings/submenu/columns.
Although, default height of submenu from checking is 600px. So this means a 2nd row should be automatic, but then going back to your previous issue even at 400px, it is being cut.

HelloParticipantHi,
Auto Row is already on for both the top level Men and Women menus. I have also changed the Submenu Column Default to 1/6, which looks a lot neater. The second row is showing but the same problem of the submenus titles and the submenus below them not showing until you go and hover over them, getting text cut off or after scrolling back up, off Ubermenu to the main page then returning and down again they disappear again.
Thank you.

JackKeymasterHi there @Hello,
I’ve taken a look at the site and for me it’s working correctly in Firefox for me, though I do see some cut off text in Chrome.
Which version of IE are you using? Also can you please post some FTP details in a private reply please, I’d like to try overriding some of the CSS output in a child theme with more specificity to see if it helps at all.
Thank you!
