Hi there,
Thx for suggesting the use of Yoast’s SEO plugin for the sharing feature. Have been using that and it’s spot on.
Just noticed today that the Twitter shared image is being shown on Twitter as a square image however, not as per the dimensions that are suggested – just wondering if you know anything about this?
For example, as noted by the Yoast plugin:
”
If you want to override the image used on Twitter for this post, upload / choose an image or add the URL here. The recommended image size for Twitter is 1024 x 512px.
”So we did that, but the image is being cut off as Twitter posts these images as apparently square now? Weird.
So, we have tried removing the Twitter image from the Yoast plugin and using the default Featured image for the page, and it’s the same deal. Are you able to shed any light on this please? We’d like to have a game plan for best case image post scenario for Twitter shares, Facebook is perfect as it is.
Tx so much for your insight.

Thanks for writing in!
WordPress SEO by Yoast is a 3rd party plugin. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.
September 29, 2015 at 5:35 pm #603918Hi,
I was also asking about X theme’s ability to provide a SEO image to Twitter – is this not possible? For example, if we do NOT choose to use the Yoast plugin for Twitter it can be excluded from the plugin, so my question is, can we use a fall back image as provided by the theme?
Bit disappointed with this feature to be honest, thx for your reply.
September 30, 2015 at 12:31 am #604230Hi,
Yes, it is possible.
You can enable open graph under Social in the Customizer then add a fallback image.

Hope that helps.
