    Hey guys,

    I tried everything to translate X to French the “normal” way.

    I followed every step from your guide: https://community.theme.co/kb/translation/

    However, it still doesn’t work, at least no entirely, and I can’t figure out why 🙁

    I tested my translation on 2 two websites.

    One on which bbPress is installed.

    The only strings that were translated are some of bbPress.

    Rad from Themeco saw my translation files and told me that there were ok.

    So do you have any solution for me ?

    Hi there,

    Rad here, again 🙂

    Would you mind providing the correct login credentials for your site’s FTP. The one you provide from another thread is incorrect.

    For the meantime, please rename your translation files to something like this,

    __x__-fr_FR.mo
    __x__-fr_FR.po

    And move them to /wp-content/languages/themes/

    The same goes for the cornerstone, they have a separate translation from the theme, but the process should be the same. Then move its translation files to /wp-content/languages/plugins

    Hi Ruben,

    Thanks for the additional details.

    I’ve checked this and while your .po files are fine, the .mo files are empty, can you try re-generating your .mo files please in poedit? Once those are regenerated, the translations should then function correctly.

    Hey Jack,

    I tried what you said.

    But the problem is that .mo file are 13ko.

    As soon as I upload them, they become empty.

    Do you have any idea what could be the cause ?

    Hi there Ruben,

    Thanks for your reply, that’s definitely odd!

    I see other .mo files on your server are fine, would you mind adding your X theme and Cornerstone .mo and .po files in a zip and attaching that here for me to check?

    That’s great! Glad to hear it’s working. 🙂

    All I did, was re-generate the files and then upload via them FTP. Which I believe is all you did as well.

    It’s so frustrating… 🙁

    All that time lost fort ftp problem

    Do you have any idea where this problem is coming from ?

    For FTP I use Transmit and you ?

    I use the FireFox AddOn FireFtp

    Since I start using my headaches with FTP are over.
