Hi All,
I’ve decided to try X Theme out, as I am not really happy with my current theme. So I purchased and downloaded it to install.
Wanted to do this on another domain first to test, but then I was afraid my license would be for that. So I wanted to make a subdomain on my regular domain (where I wanted to use it).
What happened? I put it on the live version. That is when shit hit the fan. all got messed up and I tried to turn it back, that messed up my SQL databases. I had ofcourse backups, but they were not working. Total panic (as it is a live business). Chill out and think. Eventually turned up the host makes snapshots every 3 hours from the whole VPS. had multiple options. As on the same VPS I have more sites & email and other services running. restored and we are ok. Thank god.
Anyway, now made a subdomain, uploaded WP. will install on that, to play around. and copy all existing things.
My question, what is the easiest way to port everything from what I have now to the new theme? Any suggestions or tips? My site has quite few licensed plugins (SEO, WMPL and so on).
I Read the docs and knowledge base, but all I keep seeing is that it thinks I am making a totally new website.
Sorry for the long post =)
All the best,
