Hello,
I installed TinyMCE Advanced on my WordPress site about a week ago so I would have a way to easily insert tables into posts. Since I’m new to the X Theme, all my work has been done in Cornerstone. The plugin worked for a while but now all of a sudden the TinyMCE Advanced toolbars no longer show up when I’m editing with Cornerstone. I also noticed this behavior after I updated the X Theme. When I click on the Visual tab in Cornerstone, only the default toolbars are visible. But, if I go to the Visual tab outside of Cornerstone the toolbars are there.
Is this an issue with Cornerstone? Is there a way I can fix this, or at least add the tables function to the Visual tab inside Cornerstone?

Yes, I have already clicked the Toolbar button and it does not resolve the issue.Steps to Replicate:
1. Install TinyMCE Advanced plugin or WP-Edit plugin.
2. Create a new post
3. Click the Visual tab.
4. Click the Toolbar button. You will see that it toggles correctly and displays all the extra available tools.
5. Click the Cornerstone tab and then “Edit with Cornerstone”
6. Create a Text area and click on it to make it the active control.
7. Clicking on the Toolbar button toggles, but does not display the extra tools.Hope you can help with this. Thanks!
July 5, 2015 at 10:39 pm #321794Hello There,
Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)
Our latest versions are:
X Theme: 4.0.4
Cornerstone: 1.0.3
Visual Composer: 4.5.3
Revolution slider: 4.6.93You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/x/member/changelog/) Then you can compare them to whatโs installed on your site.
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.
Thank you.
July 6, 2015 at 11:31 am #322362All versions are up to date. I am not running Visual Composer.
I am running the X Child Theme though. Which reports Ver. 1.0.0
This issue surfaced after an update. X Theme and Cornerstone updated at the same time, so I’m unsure which one is the culprit.Like I said before, everything was working fine until the updates.
Thanks for the help!

July 9, 2015 at 11:17 am #325728Was this issue ever resolved? I just installed tinymce Advanced but it doesn’t show up in Cornerstone. I didn’t start a new topic since my issues are exactly the same as the OP and obviously you guys found a solutions.
ThanksJuly 9, 2015 at 1:20 pm #325843Hello @jh9300

July 20, 2015 at 10:14 pm #335392@jh9300 It has not been resolved. It stills doesn’t work for me. Since TinyMCE Advanced does show up in Visual Composer and the regular editor I can only assume it’s an issue with Cornerstone itself.
July 21, 2015 at 2:06 am #335516Hello There,
Thanks for updating the thread. Unfortunately advance TinyMCE toolbars is not yet available in Cornerstone. We’ve already added this as featured request to be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive. Thanks!
July 21, 2015 at 3:44 pm #336254Hi there,
This is Alex, one of the lead Cornerstone developer. I just wanted to chime in here regarding the issue. To prevent conflicts, Cornerstone disables all 3rd party extension to the WordPress TinyMCE setup. Regretfully, the visual editor was never meant to be used in a live environment, and it took a great deal of effort to provision it within the Cornerstone inspector. We’ve noticed that many TinyMCE extensions break the layout, and often cause fatal javascript errors, so we’ve disabled them by default. We don’t intend to provide native support for TinyMCE Advanced inside Cornerstone at this time. Plugin developers can use the
cornerstone_before_wp_editor
to re-enable their extensions if they wish to provide support for Cornerstone.July 25, 2015 at 3:09 pm #340429Terrific! Just the thread I needed to see.
I’m surprised that version 4.0 / Cornerstone does not provide support for TinyMCE Advanced – nor include a similar, ThemeCo proprietary MCE extension.
I’ve deployed X3 and X4 on a number of client’s websites (under licences linked to different accounts.) I’ve found that X provides a very different experience to that which people have grown accustomed to.
Rather than expecting such developers to provide support for Cornerstone, I’d like to see ThemeCo embrace the particularly ubiquitous WP products that so many users have relied upon for years – after all, Cornerstone is the new kid on the block.
In my opinion, ThemeCo would benefit greatly by proactively providing native support to smaller, popular, and robust developers, such as those behind TinyMCE Advanced.
Thank you for the insight regarding the automatic disabling of TinyMCE extensions. That’s handy to know, and thank you for the advice to those who may wish to integrate their products with your framework.
Cheers ๐
July 25, 2015 at 11:13 pm #340554You’re welcome! Cornerstone will surely going to evolve, stay tuned ๐
