CaptainChasParticipantHello There!
Under our Dashboard > X Addons > Home, we see that 4.4.2 is the latest version of X, and we currently have version 4.4.1 installed. However, despite doing a “Check Now”, WP does not report the theme update.
This has been going on through several revisions now, and we’ve updated manually. We have a “multi-site” WP but don’t use anything other than the main site.
We also did a PHP check and it turned out fine, as did the “verbose” mode.
Any other ideas?
Cheers!
Chas
EnduranceTourist.comPS – Oddly enough, all the plugins updated without a problem! We have VC version 4.11.2, etc. It’s just the theme that doesn’t work.

JackKeymasterHi there Chas,
Thanks for writing in!
For now, please continue to update X manually (https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/) if you don’t see an update notice for it.
We’ve been investigating the multisite automatic update issues. Our original system was never specifically designed to work with multisite, but would often work when X was active on the main site. The problem is that when WordPress checks for updates at the network level, the theme code isn’t included. With X running on the main site, it will try to insert update information into the WordPress update cache. But that cache is volatile, and the network dashboard can clear it out – at which point because X isn’t running, the X update doesn’t appear anymore. This is what we’ve deduced about multisite updates being hit or miss. We will likely update our documentation to reflect that automatic updates are not supported on Multisite, but still have a few more things to look into.
Hopefully this helps clear things up for now. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns, thanks! 🙂

CaptainChasParticipantThanks for the update! We’re going to try and remove the multi-site and hopefully that will then solve the issue.
Thanks again!
