JosephLuceroParticipantHello ,
I have recently activated the Grid plugin on my website for use with my Instagram feed. I created the needed Instagram App to get my access token but now I get a result that says:Sorry, an error occurs from Instagram API: This request requires scope=public_content, but this access token is not authorized with this scope. The user must re-authorize your application with scope=public_content to be granted this permissions.
What should I do?

JosephLuceroParticipantYou guys didn’t really help the guy out on that thread so it was not of much use to me either and I am still having the same issue as before: I have recently activated the Grid plugin on my website for use with my Instagram feed. I created the needed Instagram App to get my access token but now I get a result that says:Sorry, an error occurs from Instagram API: This request requires scope=public_content, but this access token is not authorized with this scope. The user must re-authorize your application with scope=public_content to be granted this permissions.
Solutions?

RupokMemberHi there,
The error message says it all and you should follow that. Please re-authorize your application with scope=public_content and try again.
Thanks!

OdinMBParticipantInstagram does not seem to allow to ask for a scope=public_content permission for personal blogs, as fetching the last 20 images is also possible in sandbox mode. The Grid seems to be programmed in a way that requires this permission, though.
Can we expect this to be changed? If not, I will have to use another plugin for Instagram posts.

RadModeratorHi there,
It’s because of this https://www.instagram.com/developer/sandbox/
It always starts with sandbox mode and you’ll have to send review request.
To get out of Sandbox mode, you need to submit your app for review. If your app falls into the approved use cases and gets approved, it will automatically go live. At this point any Instagram user will be able to authorize your app, but you will have access only to the permissions that you were granted during the review. If you need access to more permissions, you can submit for review again and you will not lose access to the permissions that you have already been granted.
https://www.instagram.com/developer/review/
And for that, you’ll need a working app.
Thanks!

OdinMBParticipantDoes “The Grid” count as a working app?
The way I understand the terms of Instagram, “The Grid” in this case would be used in the context of a personal blog, for which no “out of sandbox” permissions are granted. Which would mean that “The Grid” cannot access Instagram pictures for personal blogs.

RadModeratorHi there,
I think it’s not, it should be something that belongs to you. As far as I recall, I think The Grid is using a common App name before, it provides a link where I can get the generated token and do all the permission for me. But it’s removed, maybe something changed in Instagram’s standard and API implementation. Maybe security related since it could get any personal information who ever use it, I’m not sure. Hence, it’s like 20 max is now permanent.
Thanks!
