I’m experimenting with The Grid and really liking the search engine possibilities. As a musician I would love it if I could play audio files from the grid page. I would love it if the user would hover over a grid image and, along with the text that appears, an audio player also appears. Is that possible? I would like the user to preview and sort my music items all from within The Grid.
April 4, 2016 at 2:32 am #865532Hello There,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully there isn’t a feature in the grid plugin as what you have wanted. It will display an audio but not how exact the same as what you have in mind. It best that you check out the documentation of the gird plugin for you to know what you can do and the limitation of this plugin. Please check this link: http://theme-one.com/docs/the-grid/#!/media_settings
Hope this may help you.
April 4, 2016 at 12:04 pm #866250Actually, the SoundCloud integration looks like it might work very well for what I need!
I’m interested to try it with an mp3 hosted on my own site. I’ve read the documentation and I can’t find the “audio” tab and fields like in the documentation. See attached image.
April 4, 2016 at 12:31 pm #866291Okay, I found this editing area at the bottom of my edit post page. I have entered my mp3 address.
The Grid now shows controls for playing the mp3, but I can’t play it. The skin appears to cover the controls when I try to use them. Also, the featured image is no longer there. It’s just a white rectangle with the audio player controls at the bottom.
What am I missing?
April 4, 2016 at 11:40 pm #867061The audio player seems to be working now. Not sure why it wasn’t earlier today.
However, the featured image still does not show up in The Grid when I am trying to use the audio player to stream an mp3 from my website. How can I get an image to show up with the audio player in the grid?

April 5, 2016 at 8:00 am #867575I figured it out! I had to select an alternative image in the individual item format option. It does exactly what I need it to do. So happy!
April 5, 2016 at 9:02 pm #868457Glad you were able to figure this out Pink!
