Hi,
I am hoping you can help me through this, I have just updated my site to for the first time in a while- am going to start a redesign and get my head around Cornerstone before building a new site with a new licence for a colleague. My first step was to update WP, theme and plugins and unfortunately managed to break everything!! I presume its because my site was based upon visual composer?
My site URL is as here:
http://illuminationproductions.com.au/
The site is running WordPress 4.4.2
Since the update WordPress will not activate XTheme, instead displaying the following messages
“The active theme is broken. Reverting to the default theme”
Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.Name Description
x Stylesheet is missing.Wordpress then automatically activates TwentyFifteen theme.
I suspect my problem is similar to this thread…
https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/the-active-theme-is-broken-reverting-to-the-default-theme/
…but most of the fix was completed privately so I cant work out myself possible ways to fix it before troubling you guys.
Thanks in advance!

There must be connection lost when you update resulting to broken themes or missing files.
Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

Thanks for writing in! It seems like we will need your FTP credentials to check your files. Upon checking your site, we find that the X theme isn’t present, but the old stacked based child themes were present.
If you are not concerned about losing any styling from before, then you you can go ahead and delete the X theme and all child themes via FTP. You also need to remove X Shortcodes It is no longer needed as the shortcodes are now part of Cornerstone. After that please install the latest version of X and Cornerstone.
You can also download the newer version of the child theme and install that.
However, if you do want to lose any styling you had before, it would be best if you had a working backup of your site so we can see and advise you the best way to update. It seems you are updating from a number of versions back.
Please don’t forget to use a private reply when providing us with your FTP access.
Let us know how that goes. Hope this helps – thanks!
February 22, 2016 at 12:48 am #806287Hi again,
I don’t seem to be able to customise the header area in the way I have been able to in the past.
For a start the site seems to display both the name of my site and the logo (I just want the logo), everything is justified to the right, and nothing is is all justified to the left and I can seem to be able to center any of it anymore.
AS a last resort I ended up loading the agency demo site to see if the problem is still evident, which it is. I just can’t seem to be able to modify any of the styling to be anything like I require. Is it me, or is this still a legacy issue from my previous site and lack of updates?
February 22, 2016 at 12:50 am #806290And also, what would my FTP credentials be? Is this access to my webhost so that you can in turn access cPanel?
Sorry for my lack of knowledge!
February 22, 2016 at 12:51 am #806292Hi there,
Thanks for updating. You can ask your hosting provider for the FTP credentials if you can’t create from cPanel.
Cheers!

I was able to fix the issue by updating @import statement in style.css to following :
@import url( '../x/framework/css/dist/site/stacks/renew.css' );
For more information please check this :https://theme.co/changelog/#theme-4-3-3
Hope it helps.
