Hi folks,
I have now updated to the new version of X, but since then my templates are no longer available, in fact I cannot even see the Save buttons in the Layout manager.
I have tried the following based on other posts I have seen in the forum:
1. Ran Transient Cleaner and cleaned all transients
2. Deleted my cacheHowever, it seems I still have the same issue.
Can you help me with this please?
Thanks,
Jason

How did you update cornerstone? did you update it via FTP ?
If so please connect to FTP and remove cornerstone folder from wp-content/plugins. Next navigate to X Addons page and install cornerstone automatically.
Thanks.

June 18, 2016 at 9:30 pm #1048875Hey Jason,
Thanks for the updates! I understand that you did some customizations in the theme. You may have change some things or even added a custom templates. Since you did not use a child theme, all those customizations were overwritten when you have updated X. We would like to suggest that you use a child theme. This allows you to make code changes that won’t be overwritten when an X update is released. After your child theme is setup, please review how we recommend making template changes in Customization Best Practices.
You might need to ask some assistance from your hosting to recover your changes before you updated. Most hosting has a backup feature which you can go back to a certain point in time. Once you have reverted back to the previous version with your customizations in it, you can install a child theme and copy all those things you have customize in the child theme. After making sure that it is already in the child theme, you can then update the parent X theme to the latest version.
Hope this would help.
June 19, 2016 at 6:53 am #1049168No problem, just one question however.
Cornerstone, when I go to the templates section, there is no templates section (screen attached).
I select the template button, but nothing comes up.
So I tried creating a block, and there is no save button for the block, in the templates section.
Therefore this suggests cornerstones template section is being bypassed.

There’s an AJAX error in your site (see attachment). Please contact your hosting provider regarding that.
Thanks.
June 19, 2016 at 12:20 pm #1049383I have this same issue and am getting the same error. I don’t think this is an issue with the hosting provider the templates were working fine before the x-theme update which I also performed through the WordPress dashboard.
It does appear that the the Ajax call is failing, ({“success”:false,”fatal_error”:true}), but that could just as easily be a programming error.
I will be contacting my hosting provider to have them check the issue, but I am already guessing what they will say.
June 19, 2016 at 5:52 pm #1049609Hi there,
You can get more information about the error (if it’s logged). Fatal error doesn’t always mean coding error, but I could check it for you if you can provide your admin and FTP login credentials in private reply.
Thanks!
