My X-child theme’s style.css is missing from Appearance. I am not sure why it disappeared and unable to figure it out.

I have disabled all the plugins. Delete X themes, X-child themes, enabled 2014 themes. Then reinstall X themes, enabled X-child themes. I confirmed from my hosting file folder that these two folders (X themes, and X child themes) are re-installed under “themes” folder.

However, I am still unable to see style.css under Appearance –> CSS.

I am not sure why it behave so. Probably the only solution is to resetup from again from WordPress installation.

Before that I would like to check if you guys have any clue?

    Thank you.

    Hi There,

    Thanks for writing in.

Upon checking, your style.css is still in your child theme. I recommend not to edit your child theme CSS in your wordpress. It would be best to use FTP to edit your CSS in your child theme.

The file is located here: /wp-content/themes/x-child/style.css

Using FTP, Download the file then add your custom CSS then upload it again on the same location so that you can overwrite it.

Hope it helps. Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

    Hi There,

Thank you so much for your patience.

Please try to install/update your setup manually. Check the link below on how to install/update you setup manually using FTP.

Let us know how it goes. If still not working, please share us your admin credentials and FTP in a new thread.
