Hi guys,

Doing some research on a photography website and kinda decided on the following: having a full width slider similar to this: http://www.chrisburkard.com/ and then links/menu pointing to something like this: http://www.coreyrich.com/

1) Is it possible to have a menu over a full image like the first example

2) what would be the best way to achieve the photo grid/gallery from the second example. Also, what would be your choice of stack considering that a photo blog would be one of the functions of the website?

3) What is the functionality/element they used on the front page of this website: http://www.facetphotography.com/ – the line going all the way down and the linked photos to it (please see screen grab)

Thanks for writing in! This could be done in any stack. You can check the demos to explore the stacks.

#1. Yes it’s possible and you will find lots of threads regarding this if you search on our forum.

#2. We have several gallery/grid plugins integrated to X. Let’s check Envira Gallery, Essential Grid, The Grid

#3. That’s illustrated on our Integrity demo – http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/

You can import the demo to a staging site to see how it’s set.

1) Is there a way to have a menu, which is also a filter for a image gallery just like this website: http://portfolio.joemcnally.com/index/

and a gallery related:

2) would the above be possible with the Envira gallery plugin? Looking for a lightbox solution with social share option and seems like Envira supports that…

Upon checking envira gallery further, it does not have any filter functionalities. The only plugin that I could think of is the essential grid. Just like the sample below:

Thanks for the info! After doing some research, it seems like the Envira gallery has social sharing function, which is available with an add on but the copy of the gallery provided with Theme X doesn’t allow installing of add-ons. Is there another options for a gallery with social sharing within X?

Hi there,

Envira galley plugin comes bundled in x and it works without activataion but to use Envira addons, you have to purchase plugin’s license.
