ChgrimParticipantHi,
I love the X-Theme and have been trying to optimize it as best as possible. I have cleaned up all my plugins to only the necessary ones and done as much optimizing as I can. The one issue I am still finding is my initial wait time is very high.
Whenever I run my site, I used an example page https://www.topdownreviews.com/imperfect-produce-review/ through https://tools.pingdom.com/ I get on average a 2.0 speed which is very good. The only problem I see is when I look at the graphs below, almost a full second of that time is the initial wait from the site.
my latest numbers were ssl 60ms, connect 104ms and then wait is 812ms. I looked through the xtheme forums a bit and someone else mentioned this problem but their only solution was to upgrade to a faster vps that could handle the CPU load.

I would prefer not to upgrade my host to get that wait time down. Do you have any suggestion for how I could lower that wait?
Thanks so much!

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
Waiting time is when the server process the request, it’s when server-side script execution happens. And yes, script processing is always related to CPU load and limits.
To lessen the need for processing everything a page is requested, you can then implement caching, just don’t overdo it. Please check this https://community.theme.co/kb/performance/
Thanks!
