    Like many other people, I’ve tried almost every solution listed to remove the space below the map and above the footer on the welcome page of my site. I haven’t started work on any other pages yet, but I’m sure it’ll affect them too.

    I believe you forgot us to provide the username and without it we cannot see the website.

    Hi There,

    That whitespace is the footer widget area, to remove it please navigate to Customizer > Footer > Footer Widget Areas > select None (Disabled):
