I just thought I should share this as I was struggling with updating a validated site. I tried everything until I found that the solution was:
1. go to WP-Admin -> X Addons -> Home.
2. On the right hand side, click “Revoke validation” (Your site is validated. Revoke validation). Don’t revoke in your user account here on theme.co (that did nothing for me anyway).
3. get your envato purchase key from your account -> licenses (here on https://community.theme.co). Copy it.
4. go back to WP-Admin -> X Addons -> Home. You should now be able to enter a your purchase key. Press enter. Done!Now my theme is updating properly. Hope this helps anyone else in the same predicament.
PS. I had implemented the solution mentioned here, so please take note that I don’t know if this was part of the solution. If you have tried the above steps and it’s still not working. See if appending said code to ca-bundle works (see above link for details).
