Today, WooCommerce released 2.4.3 and I encountered an issue with variable products where the “Add To Cart” button and quantity selector disappeared. All of my plugins, themes and WP are up to date so I started digging.
After 4 hours and trying 50 different things, I decided to start removing out-of-date templates from the X-theme, allowing the current WooCommerce plugin to override these files (or use it’s own by default). You can see which ones are out of date by going to WooCommerce > System Status and scrolling to the bottom. After removing the variable.php file (x/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php) and the content-product.php file (x/woocommerce/content-product.php) everything started working again.
If anyone else encounters what I did, I hope this helps.
Themeco staff – please have these out of date template files updated in a near-future release. In the latest version of X, there are 4 out-of-date php files including the 2 I mentioned.
August 12, 2015 at 9:34 pm #357716Hello There,
Thanks for writing in! And thank you for sharing how you resolve the issue.
WooCommerce updated their plugin several days ago and these creates the issues because they made some changes on the templates on this 2.4 release. Our developers is already aware of this issues as we work closely with Woocommerce. We will be rolling out an update release to address these issues. Please bear with us.
Thank you for your understanding.

As mentioned in our changelog here (https://theme.co/changelog/), X theme is compatible with WooCommerce v2.3.9.
Hope that’s clear.
August 25, 2015 at 5:59 pm #369341Thank you Jmot for the solution! And thank you Themeco staff for directing me to your post!
Erasing just one outdated file worked for me. It was the variable.php file (x/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php)
Phew! I can resume life again. 🙂
