I have tried everything to update the slider and everything is failing.

I read this thread and did everything suggested multiple times in different orders:

Deactivate Slider revolution
Delete Slider Revolution
Delete all data associated with the plugin
Deactivate X theme
Clear all caches with w3 total cache
Re-activate X theme
Re-install Slider
Activate slider
Clear cache again…

And the same thing is there. Also, the data from the old slider is still there. It’s just a photo I practiced with. I don’t have any sliders made yet. Just that test image. But it remains after all the steps above.

X is up to date. I guess I might have bought the slider at a different point in time as it seems to be showing up in my envato downloads. But after all the uninstalling and reinstalling, I would have thought it would be out and the version that came with X would be in.

I have done all I can do. I need help, please.

Hi there,

You don’t need to purchase revolution slider plugin or license. This plugin comes bundled in X and according to changelog page (https://theme.co/changelog/) current version of X is compatible with Revolution Slider v5.1.6. Please delete revolution slider and install it from X Addons menu.

Thanks, but I already tried that. I tried everything I listed above and there was no change. I know I don’t need to purchase the slider or license, but I did in 2012. I am just trying to update the version that came with X, that seemed fine before.

Does it always say that there is a newer version available even if it’s up to date? Maybe a newer version of the full version with the X version just not updated on purpose?

Thanks for writing in!

There is a new version of Revolution Slider which will be included with the next X update. Version 5.2.4 StarPath (released on 01st April 2016).

If you do have a license for Revolution Slider, you should be able to input that to unlock automatic updates for Revolution Slider with the plugin authors.
