I read this post https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-revolution-slider/ and although it is not necessary to activate Slider Revolution, it does however, require a purchased slider revolution code in order to use there free templates, right?

Quick update, Slider Revolution requires me to enter a purchase code when choosing ‘Online’ as the install method on any give free slider template https://screencast.com/t/zCbMwKf3 and when choosing ‘Local’ as the install method it’s asking me to upload the zip file containing the free slider template https://screencast.com/t/zCbMwKf3

Hey there,

Yes, you need a to purchase a separate Slider Revolution license to avail of the its freebies. Slider Revolution is bundled in X only for a specific feature or function. See https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-revolution-slider/ for more details.
