    Hi Fellas

Just setting up my lovely new X powered site but keep getting the following error when I activate the Slider Revolution plug in:

Warning: file_get_contents(/websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/go/od/st/goodstuff4kids.co.uk/public_html/home/wp-content/plugins/revslider/backup/captions.css) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/go/od/st/goodstuff4kids.co.uk/public_html/home/wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/revslider_operations.class.php on line 803

Any ideas? Am a keen amateur so may well have done something daft.

    Hey Andrew,

did you activate our Revolution Slider that we ship with our X theme or is Revolution Slider something that you’ve already used with your previous theme so you’re not using our native version?

    Hey Andrew,

Try this for us if you don’t mind. You’ll find the Revolution Slider plugin in the following directory in your theme:

    /framework/plugins/

Copy the .zip folder for the plugin to your desktop. Uncompress it, then connect to your server via FTP. Find your /wp-content/plugins/ directory and manually drag the uncompressed Revolution Slider plugin into this directory to overwrite what is already there. I’m wondering if some of your files didn’t get moved over for some reason in the automated installation process.

    Thanks!

Thanks – just tried that and unfortunately it didn’t fix it. Its strange because looking at the error message it seems to imply that file wp-content/plugins/revslider/inc_php/revslider_operations.class.php isn’t there – but it is there when i look at the contents via FTP.

Have checked that the URL matches, etc and all that seems to be ok. Very strange.

    Anything else I should try?

Actually – just noticed that wp-content/plugins/revslider/backup/captions.css doesn’t exist in the RevSlider folder, only a file called wp-content/plugins/revslider/backup/captions-orignal.css

    Could this be the problem?

    Andrew,

That is certainly what the error is indicating. It’s just very odd as we haven’t heard this from anyone else so I’m trying to figure out why these files aren’t available for you. Have you tried manually creating this file to see if it fixes the error? Unfortunately I can’t recreate it either on any fresh test installations. Do you happen to have any other plugins installed or is there anything particular about your server environment that could be useful? Is it a shared hosting account?

    Thanks!

I have Jetpack activated and a few plug ins installed but in active. I’ll try deleting everything but the x theme plug ins. Will get back to you when I have tried that.

How would I create that file? is that straight forward?

It is share hosted – but don’t normally have problems with that.

    Hi

Just to update – I duplicated the captions-orignal.css file and renamed it captions.css and this seems to have fixed it. Not entirely sure what the problem was – although have just noticed that my Mac has done something weird with a bunch of files I downloaded for something else, so it maybe connected to that.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey @enolahenderson19,

Thanks for updating this thread! To resolve your issue, please delete the revslider folder entirely. You can then go to the dashboard and install the Revolution slider plugin again by going to X Addons > Extensions.

Please let us know how it goes.
