Hi there,
I can’t figure out how to get the slider to display properly in High Resolution. In my last question, I got the the slider to display properly, but it is so pixelated on high res screens that it looks horrible. When I double the image size to twice the Grid Layer Size, i.e. 1800 x 823 when the grid layer is set to 900 x 413, with the respect aspect ratio setting on, it just doubles the size of the image and the slider takes up 813 px in height. How can I get high res images to display properly on high res screens?
Thank you!!
Marcus

Thank you for the credentials.
Would you mind trying FULLSCREEN slider instead of auto on SLIDER layout? Fullscreen slider adapts to the full width/height of the screen. So there still can be some cropping, but you should not have any issues with it.Hope this helps.
April 8, 2016 at 3:30 am #872495It doesn’t really. Then it just blows it up bigger and it becomes pixelated. Any other ideas? Is the revolution slider not able to display responsive retina images?
Thanks for the help!
April 8, 2016 at 6:55 pm #873493Hi there,
Looks okay from my end, what’s your target screen size? The concept is not just doubling the size of an image, but doubling the size of the image depending on the size of an element, container, or viewport size.
For example, if you’re targeting the full-width container or slider in a 1200px screen size, then double it as 2400px. Buf if you’re just displaying an image to a column that has 200px width, then just make the image’s size to 400px.
If you’re targeting retina display for a slider, then it would be around 2400px and above since it’s full-width of the screen.
Hope this helps.
April 20, 2016 at 7:30 pm #892711I’m trying to make a full page slider, and frankly I can’t understand why it is so hard to make a full page slider that retains the correct dimensions and displays properly on retina displays.
Every other element of WordPress is responsive, why isn’t the slider?
For example, the image I have uploaded to this ticket is 1800 × 826. The original image shows the entire basement. When you upload the photo, set the Grid size to 900 x 423, which should double the pixels to display properly on every device, all it does is serve the 1800 x 826 version, which then cuts off the image. It looks horrible and I have not received any definitive help towards resolving this issue.
Can you please help me?
April 21, 2016 at 6:04 am #893425Hi Marcus,
Thanks for writing back!
It is Revolution Slider that is a 3rd party plugin, so we don’t have any control on how it handles the images and retina display. You may refer to Revolution Slider online documentation: http://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-revolution-documentation/
For more information about our bundled Revolution Slider plugin, please refer to our knowledge base article: https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-revolution-slider/
Thank you!
April 21, 2016 at 1:32 pm #894135Well that kinda sucks, because Slider Revolution wont give me any support because I dont have a license.

April 22, 2016 at 3:24 am #894965Hello There,
Regretfully we cannot give you a license for the plugin. This is a bundled plugin in X. You might need to purchase a license if you really needed it. To know more how we utilize this plugin in X, please check out our knowledge base here: https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-revolution-slider/
Meanwhile, please check out this video tutorial on how you can create a fully responsive slider
Hope this helps.
