    These two plug-ins came with the theme.

    This is the message I see for the Slider Revolution:
    There is a new version of Slider Revolution available. View version 5.2.4.1 details or update now.
    Activate Slider Revolution for Premium Benefits. You can Enter an existing licence key or Purchase a licence key.

    This is the message I see for Visual Composer:
    ο‘£There is a new version of WPBakery Visual Composer available. View version 4.11.2 details or update now. To receive automatic updates license activation is required. Please visit settings to activate your Visual Composer. Got Visual Composer in theme?

    What do I need to do to update these plug-ins?

    Hi Caroline,

    Thanks for writing in.

    Usually, updates are provided for bug fixes or improvement. If you’re not getting any issues with your current setup, then there is no need to update them.

    If I’m using cornerstone to do the updates/setup of my pages, do I need the Visual Composer plug-in? I don’t like having plug-ins where an update is available because it is an avenue for someone to hack the site.

    What about auto updates for the theme? How does that work? It looks like there is a theme update but it didn’t do it automatically.

    Hi there,

    You can remove Visual Composer plugin if you’re not using it. To update theme, please head over to Appearance -> Themes section and click on the X thumbnail image so that you will see a link to update (make sure to validate your theme to enable automatic updates).

    Also you can update your X theme manually, to do that please follow this guide (https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/).

    Thanks.
    I thought I had validated the theme, but automatic updates aren’t happening. When I go to the X-Addons section, I see a box that says Automatic Updates and that a new version is available and it has a link to Check Now. Have I not done something right? I’d really like to have the updates be automatic, if possible.

    Hi there,

    I didn’t get you correctly. Did you validate your site? If your site is validated and you see the update notification for your theme then you should be able to update it right. Would you clarify a bit?
