This is for the website competitionstrong.com
We added in a meta tag for noindex, nofollow and I’ve waited 4 days and the pages are still indexed. Originally, we followed your instructions and added in the Disallow: / code to the robotos.txt, but that didn’t work and the site was indexed. In Google Webmaster Tools, it says the Robots.txt allows the site to be crawled. When I removed your robots.txt and added in my own with my own code, it wouldn’t work, it 404d. Do you know the reason for why I can’t upload my own robots.txt page? And more importantly I would like to de-index my site until we are ready to launch. How can we make this work?

Thanks for posting in.
It’s best to seek help from dedicated seo expert or webmaster. You should able to upload your own robots.txt, it’s the same as other files. If you’re having problem uploading it then you should contact your hosting provider.
You may also try webmaster tools to request removal of your url, adding no-index will not remove your url from their cache.
Thanks!
